MOUNTAIN LODGE ON 30 TREED ACRES WITH STREAM AND HOTTUB

Florissant House Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

This mountain home sits on 30 beautiful, wooded acres just South of Hwy 24. It sits high on a hill above the abandoned Colorado Midland Railroad from the 1800’s. Nestled in the pines, it overlooks a stream with several Beaver ponds and visiting wildlife. Feel complete privacy with no other houses in view yet easy access to all local attractions. Close to world class flyfishing at Eleven Mile Canyon, Eleven Mile Reservoir, Spinney Mountain Reservoir and the Dream Stream.

The interior features 1900 sq. ft. with Vaulted ceilings and Large floor to ceiling windows in the spacious living room. A stone accent gas Fireplace with 50' plasma TV above completes the space. The home is superior in quality featuring warm colors and comfortable furnishings. With the open concept, it is cozy enough for 2, but roomy enough for the whole family. You’ll enjoy cooking your meals in the large, modern, well stocked kitchen or grilling on the Deck. Enjoy the Views from the 3 tier deck or stargaze after a long day of outdoor activities in the 6 person Hot Tub.

We do keep the driveway well plowed of snow in the winter, however the driveway has a few ups and downs, so we do recommend 4 wheel drive for wintertime.

Hello, I'm Brad and this is Laura, my wife of 33 yrs. Pictured with us on the top of a 14er is Otis, our 7 yr old chocolate lab. We love living in the mountains of Colorado and enjoy all outdoor activities including hiking, biking, camping, fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and even backpacking at 57 yrs. old! I have lived in this area my entire life and would love to meet you and your family and help you plan a special Colorado vacation.

Bradley and Laura Eicher purchased this house in 2002

We were fortunate to have found this piece of property and built a home for family and friends to enjoy. We would love to extend this opportunity to others.

This property offers so much from hiking, wildlife viewing and wild raspberry picking to winter activities such as sledding, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

a gem of a cabin - great find

  • 5 of 5
This was the best cabin we have ever found. It had everything we needed and then some (lots of condiments in the frig). Great location for anything you wanted to do. We rafted from Buena Vista, hiked in Florissant Fossile Beds National Monument and Mueller State Park. We also road the cog railway to the top of Pike's Peak. The cabin was perfect to rest and relax in between trips. The hiking on the property was great also. I would definitely stay here again.

This cabin was just what my family needed after traveling from Iowa for a family vacation. This house could not sleep all 14 of us, but Brad & Laura had another property just a few minutes away, which my brother, mom and family stayed. The Beaver Lodge cabin had everything we needed, including utensils in the kitchen, to books and toys for the kids. The kids LOVED the hot tub and chipmunks. The kids even made a little "house" for the chipmunks with sticks, rocks, grass and they played for hours. Then they would watch from the window every morning when they woke, as the chipmunks played in their new "home"! We also had a couple deer visit right outside our bedroom window. Luckily the kids were able to get very close before they each trotted away into the woods. These are memories we hope our kids will tell their kids!

Brad and Laura were always accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions or needs we had. The cabin was very clean and we were happy to see that there was an option for recycling glass/tin/plastic. In just 4 days we filled a large garbage can. There was also a binder with instructions about the cabin and information about the area which was incredibly helpful. We found the menu for the Fortune Dragon Chinese restaurant. It was AMAZING and wish we had a Chinese restaurant as good as this in our area.

We hope to return to Colorado for another family vacation and we will definitely be looking for one of Brad & Laura's properties. Thank you for the wonderful memories!!

Wonderful visit!

Brad and Laura's cabin is exactly the way it has been described by the owners and the online reviews. It's very comfortable and has just about everything you could possibly need! The only thing not mentioned by others is the way you feel when you arrive at the cabin. We were exhausted (and cranky) after 25+ hours of traveling. But the cabin seems to exude a sense of "happiness" and has a light airy feel to it. The exhaustion and crankiness seemed to be immediately washed away!

The only negative feature about this cabin is that you do notice some highway noise from 24 if you are outside. This factor may be overshadowed anyway by the fact that there is easy access to and from the cabin. (We had to book two cabins due to availability during our entire stay in CO and while the other cabin was more remote, we never left that property - for the same reason - maybe too remote, too much trouble driving steep winding, lengthy, bumpy roads).

This location was perfect for us! We enjoyed hiking on the property - even made it to the top of the mountain and also checked out the creek down below. On the first night there, we were surprised by the deer that came around back for feeding (while we were in the hot tub - lol). The next two nights, he greeted us at the front porch.

We predominantly were there to attend a Bible conference in Woodland Park. The location of the cabin was perfect - approximately 15 min drive. We also did river rafting in Buena Vista (maybe 50 min drive?). My favorite activity though was hiking at the Crags! It's a bit of a bumpy drive from the Mennonite camp entrance to the trail, but sooo worth it esp for those who worry about the safety of hiking with children (ages 5, 8, & 10). The trail weaves in and out over the creek where the kids loved "panning for gold". It's simply beautiful there! ($6 to park at trailhead).

Coming in from the east, we bought our main groceries at Whole Foods in Co Springs (N. Academy Blvd) where we bought the best ever bison tenderloin for grilling and lots of fresh produce. Remaining odds and ends were purchased at Super Wal-Mart in Woodland Park.

Unfortunately, we did have to make one trip for medical care for a sinus infection. We went to Penrose Mountain Urgent Care. The only reason I mention this is because the staff and treatment provided there are unparalleled!

Thanks to Brad and Laura for a wonderful time at their cabin! PS (wasn't expecting the surround sound television equipment - nice touch!!!)

A great vacation!

  • 5 of 5
We had a great time at beaver lodge. My whole family felt at home the minute we opened the door.
Brad and Laura went out if their way to make sure all our needs were met.
There are so many things to do just a short drive from the cabin, from sightseeing to fishing and shopping.
The place is very clean and inviting.
The hot tub was very relaxing after our long adventure filled days. I'm so glad we chose beaver lodge rather than the typical hotel. I highly recommend that you contact Brad or Laura for your next visit to the beautiful Rocky Mountains! We will return again.

VERY comfortable and private

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at the Beaver Lodge for two nights and enjoyed our time very much. The house is beautifully appointed, very clean, well-stocked with everything you could possibly need for your visit and we immediately felt "at home". Look for the "hidden" dollar bills throughout the house where previous guests have signed their names. We have never seen this before but thought it was cool and fun!

Laura and Brad and very friendly, kind and helpful and we felt the rental was very good value for the price. You can not go wrong in selecting the Beaver Lodge for your stay in the area. We recommend it with the highest regard!

Loved every minute - the house is lovely, the bird feeder is fascinating, Brad and Laura are wonderfully helpful and friendly. The hot tub is delicious, the fireplace is warm, the kitchen is well stocked, the gas grill works great.

One warning.... the altitude is over 8000 feet, you will need to take things slowly at first, but that's what a vacation is all about!

We definitely want to come back!

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed every minute! It is advisable to take things a little slower the first day or so, especially if you're coming from a low altitude. Thanks for choosing our vacation rental and we'd love to have you back. Laura and Brad
