Our stay was just not long enough to thoroughly enjoy this comfortable property. The property owners worked with us to be sure we had everything we needed. Lovely little screened front porch, privacy, within aerobic walking distance to the beach, a nice screened party room, a fire pit, all were as described. My two little dogs enjoyed scouting out the three different yards and playing on the screened porch while I sat out there with them. We all enjoyed our stay and would like to return again in the future.
I felt at home the minute I unlocked the door of Lakeside Grove Cottage and stepped into the comfortable kitchen. The home is beautifully decorated and very cozy. Everything you could possibly need is in the cottage or on the grounds. All three bedrooms are a good size with nice closets, the kitchen is fully equipped and the living room and dining room are very nice and spacious. We appreciated the creative decor and artwork and felt it was decorated with love. The Summer house was nice for afternoon naps and the front porch was my favorite spot for morning coffee. It was a treat to have a dishwasher and a washer and dryer too. We walked to the beach for sunning and sunsets and also enjoyed walking to the nearby antique shops which were very nice. It was a perfect week, truly enjoyable!
Our family really enjoyed our stay this Summer. Grove Cottage is big and had just about everything we needed from spices in the kitchen to buckets and shovels for the beach. We loved the comfortable decor - especially our 6-year-old daughter who found treasures around every corner. The front porch, Summer cottage out back and big yard were all amazing. Lakeside is a great location. We walked to the beach each day, rode bikes around Harbor Country and ate at a few nearby restaurants. The owner was responsive, informative and friendly. We recommend staying at Grove Cottage no matter the season.
What a wonderful cottage we stayed in last week! All three bedrooms had double beds and ceiling fans, there was a new washer/dryer, and the kitchen was modern and well stocked. It was a short walk to the public beach, and easy to get to the highway. The beautiful grounds, garden, and fire pit area were great for our kids playing and making s'mores. There was a good collection of puzzles, games, and paperbacks for light summer reading.
But the best part of all, the secret hidden gem, is the enormous, fully screened summer porch. We'd spend every afternoon and evening there relaxing, reading, or lounging in the hammock while the kids played on the daybeds, couch, or worked on puzzles at the table. Ceiling fans kept things cool in the August heat, and cute paper lamps lit the room at night. Plus, the porch is far enough away from the house that the grownups could speak at a normal volume and not worry about waking any kids after they went to bed. My oldest son and I even spent a night out there after stargazing and sitting by the fire. The only criticism I can give is the fairly regular train horn from the tracks a block or so away. It woke me, but not the kids thankfully, and I was able to get back to sleep quickly.
Many thanks for a great stay and we hope to visit again soon!
What a great place to stay for our girls weekend! This house is just as nice as the pictures show. Loved all the cute decor! It was very clean and well stocked. Would have loved to be here in the summer to see the garden all in bloom. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks, Bill for keeping such a lovely home!
The cottage was very cozy and clean. The location was great. It was close to New Buffalo and the dunes. We were able to tour the wineries and breweries in the area as well. It had all the conveniences of home and felt like a vacation. The best part was I was able to bring my dog!!!!!!
