Villa Sonia D is a 60-square-meter (about 646 square feet) apartment which
sleeps four people. It has a garden overlooking the hills and a shared swimming
pool. The apartment is located on a hill and is part of an age-old house in
stone in the middle of an over-200-hectare (494 acres) farming estate. Villa
Sonia is in the heart of Umbria and not far from famous cities of art such as
Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Spoleto, among others. It is halfway between Rome and
Florence, which are both about 150 km (93 miles) away from the villa.
Villa Sonia D consists of one double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, an ample
living room with a divan bed, a fireplace, and a small kitchen. Moreover, there
is a reserved area in the garden equipped with a table, chairs, umbrella and
deckchairs. Winter heating and parking space are available.
Villa Sonia is located in the middle of a farming estate of over 200 hectares
(494 acres). It lies on a hill 450 meters (1,476 feet) above sea level. Almost
the whole land is covered in woods. About 30 hectares (74 acres) of the farming
estate consists of organically-cultivated olive trees. The villa, which stands
on the top of a hill, is surrounded by a centuries-old olive grove and another
stretch of land displaying cultivations of new olive trees.
When you arrive at the villa, you will find yourself before a beautiful house
made from goldish stones enclosed in a green lawn: a set surrounded by a
countryside of uncontaminated nature. Every angle of the garden enables you to
have a 360-degree view of a boundless expanse of hills covered in green of woods
or in silver of olive groves. Reddish roofs and bell-towers of small villages
can be spotted far away from where the garden sits. The air is clear, colors are
vivid and bright, and there is peace and tranquility. The smell of herbs and
flowers fill the air…
At 100 meters (328 feet) from Villa Sonia you will see another gracious house
where the owners live. Here you will find a small restaurant where you will be
able to enjoy the good home cooking of Umbria. Goods produced in the farm are
also for sale: extra-virgin olive oil, wine, grappa, pasta, and sauces with
truffle. The proprietors are very fond of their farm and will greet you in a
warm and friendly way. They will help with anything you need making sure you
have your privacy respected.
The swimming pool and the outdoor area
Not far from the villa is the beautiful 7x14-meter (22 x 45 feet) swimming pool,
with umbrellas and deckchairs around it. You will enjoy a relaxing view of the
green hills framing the surroundings from the swimming pool.
In addition, there is also an area equipped with a big stonework barbecue,
benches, tables, and chairs around. There is a ping-pong table, a bocce (Italian
lawn bowling) field, and mountain bikes available. The swimming pool and other
facilities are shared with guests in the other apartments of the villa. Both the
swimming pool and the garden are floodlit for night use.
The swimming pool is available from half May to the end of September.
If you are a trekking enthusiast, you can stroll through the woods inside the
Villa Sonia D is an apartment located on the ground floor. You will enter a
spacious living room. In the living room there is a lovely fireplace and a divan
bed for two people. The living room is connected to the kitchen, where you will
find the dining table. From the living room you can enter the bedroom. The
bedroom has a glass door to enter the garden. The bedroom is nice and spacious
as well, and it has an en-suite bathroom with shower. In front of the living
room you will find a patio decorated with flowered pots and equipped with an
umbrella, a table and chairs.
As to the house, it is cosy and pleasantly and elegantly furnished. The floor is
in Tuscan terracotta, and the ceiling is supported by wood joists and terracotta
tiles. The kitchen is equipped with four-electric-plate cooker, refrigerator and
dishwasher. A toaster is available, and a microwave oven is provided upon
request. A laundry room is available for use as well.

Villa Sonia is 9 km (about 5.6 miles) away from Bettona, a village of ancient
Etruscan origins. Here you will find shops and restaurants. Sportfishing and
visiting a zoogeography farm is only 1,5 km (1 mile) away. At 4 km (2.5 miles)
there are a horseback riding area and a tennis court. And in case you are
looking for something more extreme, you can go rafting near the waterfall called
Cascata delle Marmore, just 40 km (about 25 miles) away.
You will be in a very convenient position to visit splendid art cities in
Umbria. Perugia is 25 km (15.5 miles) away, Assisi is 27 km (about 17 miles)
away, Todi is 32 km (about 20 miles) away, Spoleto is 42 km (26 miles) away, and
