AMAZING 2 BED, 1 BATH BEACFRONT HOME ON NORTH SHORE OAHU

Hauula House Rental Photos and Description

Direct beachfront 2bed/1bath with hot tub on North Shore O'ahu.

Hau'ula Lanai (Balcony over Hau'ula) is located in Hale Ko'olau, a family owned and operated group of beach front vacation rental homes. Hale Ko'olau is the proud recipient of the Trip Advisor 2014 Seal of Excellence. Transient Accommodations and General Excise Tax Lic. #W-94877676-01. Learn more on our direct website at halekoolau.com.

The Hauula Lanai is a very large recently renovated (2007) and air conditioned (1200+ SF living area) spacious two bedroom, one bath direct beachfront home that enjoys dramatic views of the entire Hauula Bay and Koolau Mountains from its expansive (400+ SF) private oceanfront lanai 'balcony.' The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical and plantation style furniture and enjoys wrap-around breath-taking ocean views.

There is a queen-size futon with 8” mattress and two reclining chairs in the living room which is adjacent to the updated kitchen (2007), complete with maple cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, travertine stone floors, and dining area featuring a teak dining table and seating for four. The Hauula Lanai has a complete kitchen with sealed-top stove/range, microwave, refrigerator, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals.

The first bedroom has ocean, mountain, and garden views and features a teak and bamboo king-size bedroom set. The second bedroom has garden views and a queen size Sealy posturepedic pillow-top bed with solid wood bedroom set. All areas of the home have a/c & ceiling fans, however they are rarely necessary as this home enjoys wonderful tropical breezes year around. The spacious and airy Hauula Lanai is the perfect place to relax 'Hawaiian Style.'

Enjoy relaxing on our direct beachfront yards which overlook the blue Pacific Ocean. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on our grassy beachside yards. Watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in one of our four hot tubs, stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure. Close by are world famous North Shore attractions such as the Hauula hiking trails & preserve, Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay Resort & Golf, Brigham Young University, Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Kualoa Ranch and the last unspoiled 'Hawaiian' style towns on Oahu. Enjoy your Hawaii vacation directly on the beach with in our North Shore beachfront vacation homes.

All our properties are located in the fishing town of Hauula on the North Shore of Oahu near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are approximately 1 hour from Honolulu International Airport; where the Ko’olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean. Although we are “away from it all” we do have the Hauula Kai shopping center a short walk/drive away which has a large grocery store and several restaurants.

Our rural community of single family homes, small shops, and quaint restaurants is very different from the high rise retail/ tourist centers of Waikiki & Ko’olina. With hiking trails and unspoiled beaches, we offer a glimpse of the Oahu of yesteryear with convenient access to the night life and modern pleasures of Honolulu & Waikiki.

If you want to escape the crowds and discover a quieter and more peaceful alternative to the hotel and resort scene then Hale Ko’olau is perfect for you. Although our rentals are entirely self-catering we do have someone available on-site every day from 10am to 6pm to answer questions, give suggestions on where to go and what to do, or to just talk story.

We are happy to provide our guests with access to amenities such as high quality, professional grade snorkel equipment, ocean kayaks, beach & picnic equipment, and more for a nominal service fee. For more information please call us anytime at our toll free number or visit our direct website at halekoolau.com.

We have 18 different beachfront rentals to choose from. All of our rentals are located right next door to one another along the same stretch of beach, making our properties ideal for family reunions and weddings. To learn more visit our direct website at halekoolau.com.

Guestbook comments from the owner
My Mother and Son and I stayed at this *** location, this must be the best property we could have ever stayed at. The balcony was heavenly, we would open the sliding glass doors and the ocean breeze would fill the apartment. We never used the AC one time in the family room and in bedrooms only at night to reduce humidity. The people were wonderful, especially Jeff. We stayed 7 days and loved every second of it. To whom ever is reading this, if you have the chance to book this unit, you will absolutely NEVER regret staying here. Thankyou to everyone there that made our vacation spectacular.

Place needs work

The location is best suited for Summer travel as we found out. The wind was absolutely howling the entire 10 days we were there making the Lanai almost unusable. Not the owners fault obviously but we thought you should be aware.
The "Balcony over Hauula " was a tad disappointing. The Wi-Fi which was promised might have worked 3 days out of 9. Internet is important as a lot of people do business and important e-mails.
The apartment could be best described as " under maintained" The potlights, bathroom fixtures and fans are extremely rusty and gross. The bathroom has no fan. The drywall had holes poorly patched and two walls were soaking wet with I'm sure a ton of mould in them.
My fan in the master was wobbling to the point it could not be used and my air conditioner self destructed with water pouring in the room.
The bulb in the microwave was dead and we advised you and it was never replaced. The ice maker in the fridge did not work.
The covers for the hot tubs are completely worn out and destroyed, and actually useless at keeping the heat in FYI.
Its cheap not to have propane or Nat gas BBQ's and have to ask your guests to go buy charcoal and lighter fluid.

A major complaint of mine was the cheap $ 5 Walmart furniture on the "Balcony" Its such a beautiful space, why skimp on cheap dirty plastic furniture with no cushions?

Your people were friendly and helpful and you did attend to issues promptly, however we won't be back.
I am a landlord too and some of these issues I would not tolerate. Its bad for business

Owner's Response: We thank these guests for staying with us, and for taking the time to leave us some feedback.
The WiFi was difficult during their stay as we were upgrading our entire system to a brand-new WiFi high-speed internet system. With our new access points and antennas, we have walked to the corners of our entire property and have been able to access internet, and even chat via Skype. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused them.
The family staying here now loves the fans and has no issues with them, as they have four children staying there as well. The air-conditioning leaked once due to a bent drain pipe that was repaired and has not leaked again. We are actually in the process of renovating the entire suite, but can only do it in-between guests at this time. They did not mention that we had just finished painting one room and the ceiling a couple of days before their arrival. We are also in the process of replacing the bathroom fixtures and repainting the entire suite as well, to avoid these types of complaints.
The drywall the guest mentioned was indeed wet, as we needed to do some work in the wall and literally patched up the hole an hour before their arrival, so there wasn't a huge hole there upon their arrival. I find it completely misleading and inconsiderate, especially as a landlord themselves, to claim their is tons of mold in the wall without even asking us what had happened there.
We have been renting our property for 11 years now, and never ONCE have we had an accident there. The driveway may not be the biggest but it is certainly accessible and ample enough to fit large SUV there, as guests have had in the past.
We will be replacing the microwave over the stove as well due to the light bulb not working. Unfortunately, it will cost more for us to replace the bulb in the digital read-out than to replace it with a brand-new microwave altogether. We do not advertise this suite comes with an icemaker. The "$5 Walmart furniture" he is referring to is pretty expensive furniture from Home Depot. We cannot use metal items on the lanai due to the sea spray, and we do not provide outdoor cushions due to loss of previous cushions we had out there.
The wind has been howling all over the island, including in Honolulu where some of our employees live. They stated the wind was worse in Honolulu.
We do our very best to bend over for our guests and to ensure they enjoy their stay with us, but there are some guests that just can't be pleased.

We loved our Hauula Lanai.

  • 5 of 5
We have just returned from a 10 day stay in Hauula. We truly enjoyed our stat at this location. We were close to the PCC, Northshore, Waikki, and freeway access. The house itself was clean and had all the amenities that were needed for our stay. Otiliani was so friendly and told us funny stories about the island. She also helps to find activities, good beaces, grocery stores and so much more. Most of all we are going to miss our beautiful sunrises on our lania. Mahalo nui loa.

Yes on the Beach!

  • 4 of 5
If you are looking for a nice quite get away this is the place to go. Lanai Hauula customer service was perfect, the location was perfect, and the house was very comfortable. My dream vacation was to wake up in the morning and not have to pack up my 2 & 5 year old kids and drive to a beach or be around a ton of tourist. This location made my dream come true. Yes we were right on the beach. The view, comfort and friendly people made this vacation perfect. Just a short walk to the store for food and you could stay there for the entire vacation. The only things that kept this location from being perfect was the rooster (if you don't like to wake up that early).
Thank you for your hospitality and I know where we will be staying next time we are in town!

Owner's Response: Mahalo nui loa for staying with us at our Hau'ula Lanai suite! We enjoyed having you all with us and look forward to hosting you all on your next trip to the North Shore.

Being out of the city, roosters are a common sight to see and hear out on the North Shore. But, at the very least, they really do make it feel like you are "away from it all."
