Ashford Cabin Rental Photos and Description

1 bedroom, 1 bath cabin along mountain stream, sleeps 6

This cabin may appear rustic on the outside but don't let that fool you! This cabin was built in 1915, however the interior was remodeled in 2005 with beautifully finished 1 x 12 plank knotty pine floors, walls, and ceilings. Some of the existing beautifully finished cedar paneled walls still remain in the living room. This main cabin (Totem) sleeps up to 6 persons comfortably, has a master bedroom with new custom log queen bed and new mattress, 3/4 bath with over-sized shower, full size fully stocked kitchen with stainless fridge plus stainless gas range, large open floor plan, custom knotty pine breakfast bar & bar stools for seating up to 6, plus a table and seating for 4 in the kitchen nook, with a beautifully crafted stone fireplace and wood stove, plus two futons in the roomy living room with space to convert into two full size beds. Several skylights and open floor plan make this cabin light, open and airy! Semi-secluded in beautiful timber, with a tranquil stream bubbling through the front of the property, a flat parcel on almost an acre with no neighbors close by! Located on a quiet dead end road, but easily accessible right off of highway 706 East, and only 1/2 mile from Mt Rainier National Park, Nisqually gate to Longmire and Paradise.

If more room is needed this semi-secluded wooded property also has a separate studio unit (Tahoma) to rent in combination or separately from the main cabin. Just like the Totem cabin, it is rustic on the outside but very nicely remodeled on the inside. It sleeps an additional 2 persons comfortably with its own beautiful stone fireplace including wood stove, beautifully finished 1 x 12 plank knotty pine floors, walls, ceilings plus exposed log beams, separate 3/4 bath with shower, small fridge, microwave, and other amenities.

Both Stepping Stone Cabins, the Totem and Tahoma, are available for rent separately or together. See our website for details. We do offer a discount if both are rented together. A third cabin with hot tub that sleeps up to 8, is available a short walk away on a separate secluded wooded parcel if additional space is needed. If all three cabins are rented together we do offer an even larger discount. See our website for further details.

Please make sure to see our website for most current availability calendars. There are two cabins on this property and each cabin has it's own calendar on our website that is kept updated. However, the calendar on this website does not have that option. So we mark dates as 'pending' if only one cabin is reserved, we mark it as 'reserved' if both cabins are reserved. So for accurate info please do see our website calendar. Sorry for the inconvenience!

About Rick or Theresa Cooper

We love this area! It is our playground for hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, sledding, fishing, photography, wildlife viewing, etc.

Rick or Theresa Cooper purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Rick or Theresa Cooper chose Ashford

Mt Rainier National Park is a beautiful any season park to enjoy, and this cabin is just .5 miles from the entrance. It is also within walking distance of our other cabin, The Cornerstone cabin, so that we can use all three units for our family reunions or other large gatherings, and recommend that to others as well.

What makes this cabin unique

We absolutely enjoy sitting in the gazebo under the beautiful timber, next to the tranquil stream burbling through the yard, watching the deer meander through for their morning and evening drinks. We love the stone fireplaces, they are absolutely beautiful! So cozy to curl up in front of the fire on snowy or rainy days after a good hike in the park! The Totem cabin is our favorite for our own large groups with children as it has a wonderful open floor plan with lots of room for children to play.

Quiet, Relaxing location

  • 4 of 5
The cabin was well maintained and had everything except wifi that a family could ever need for a weekend getaway. The bedroom was very cozy and the covers were quite comfortable. The fireplace was great and the owner gave my husband a quick lesson on keeping the fire going and helped us bring in dry wood. We had a great time and would definately be going back to this cabin in the future.

Cabin was properly maintained, owner was helpful, nearby attractions were Mt Rainier is nearby to go walk around the Paradise area of Mt Rainier. Restaurants nearby. I almost don't want to say how cute it was so it won't get too popular! So I can keep it for myself....:-)
