I just noticed I only have 2,500 characters to use to write this review. In no way can 2,500 characters cover how wonderful this magical place is.
I had booked this cabin after going thru countless VRBO options. For whatever reason, this one cabin snagged my attention the most. As I began to review the information, pictures and visitor reviews listed on the page, I swiftly fell in love with this home away from home.
The pictures here and those that Alan (the cabin owner) will send you upon inquiring about the cabin do not do the place justice. It's MAGICAL. Serene. Heaven. I took nearly a thousand photos of the interior, exterior and surrounding areas... each picture surpassed the last.
While there is a neighbor directly to your right, you never hear or see them. While you share the mountain with other homes, you feel like you're completely alone. And it's great!
Alan was wonderful with answering any and every question I had for him (and I had a lot!). He even offered to come up if I had any issues. He lists all emergency numbers on the fridge and he has everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room.
The cabin was immaculate; yes there was some dust here and there, but when you're nearly six foot and wearing five inch heels, you tend to see more than the average person. The fact there was dust on the very top of things up high gave the cabin a lived in feeling; I didn't feel as if I were a stranger in a strange land; like I said, I felt at home and so did my best friend.
The three decks that you can choose to relax on never grew boring. There is a hot tub (we used once) and a grill (we didn't even use at all). There is a Foose Ball table and a darts' board. You cannot be bored in this cabin.
I've told everyone I know that this is my cabin now; I'd claim it any day. I plan on returning this year and I already have two weeks in mind for next Summer. While my best friend and I encountered adventures outside the cabin, we also loved just being in the home. Again, you cannot go wrong with this beautiful place!
As for the activities I mentioned above, we enjoyed a scenic train ride with the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, an AMAZING rafting trip with the Rolling Thunder River Company (ask for Injun/Ben!!!) and just a great shopping excursion in the downtown area of Blue Ridge and McCaysville/Copper Hill.
If you need to feel like you belong somewhere, this is your place. Do yourself a favor and book this awesome place!!!!
