Mission Manor is surrounded by fantastic cafes and restaurants, easy to find, and close to a parking garage. It's clean, welcoming, and a great place to spend a long weekend (or year)!
As the other reviewers have noted, Mission Manor is in the heart of the Mission District -- the center of trendy restaurants and shops and only an 8-minute walk from BART. And Bi-Rite, SF's legendary grocery, is literally around the corner. Susan is a wonderful host. When we arrived, there was a plate of delicious cookies and a bowl of tangerines on the coffee table to welcome us. The living room is bright and cheery, and the king-size bed quite comfortable. In the refrigerator were a selection of yogurts, milk and cream, and cans of V-8. Also in the kitchen are a selection of cold cereal and coffee for the Keurig. We couldn't recommend it more highly.
We loved Mission Manor. The apartment was beautiful, clean and charming, Susan was attentive and extremely helpful. The area was safe, fun and very convenient. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the entire experience was top rate. Our security deposit was immediately returned. I recommend this apartment wholeheartedly.
We were originally concerned about the BART, which is only a few minutes walk away and the area looked a bit sketchy. However, we soon felt safe and used the BART almost exclusively, even late into the night. We always felt safe anywhere near the apartment, and the immediate area is replete with great restaurants, shops and shoppes.
We are an older couple (early 70's) who enjoy our comforts and convenience. This apartment was perfect.
We stayed at this cute little apartment in the Mission area for a few nights in October. The apartment was very clean and gave us more room to spread out than a hotel room as it had a small kitchen as well as a living area to relax. As we have rental property ourselves, we always like to rent from other owners when we travel away from our home and this little apartment is well run and nice. The manager and owner are very helpful and involved and provide so much detailed information and ideas that will help to make vacationing easy. The quick breakfast items and coffee were appreciated as was the comfy bed and extra blankets. There is noise from the upstairs apartment and the garage below as mentioned in other reviews, but the other guests tried to be considerate of us most of the time during our stay (thanks to encouragement by the manager and owner). We would recommend this apartment to others without question.
Mission Manor was a perfect location to go anywhere easily in San Francisco. You can enjoy walking around in Mission and Castro and easily reach to Downtown, Chinatown, Fisherman's warf and other part of the city through trains and buses. Those stations are so close to the apartment. Lots of restaturants, supermarkets, grocery stores are also nearby. The apartment is really beautifully decorated, clean, safe and spacious enough for two. The owner was very responsive and helpful for our entire stay. Her breakfast was really a great one. We hope to stay again someday.
