Charming Charlevoix Beach Cottage Family 3 BR / 2 BA

Enjoy this charming home in Charlevoix directly across from and with views of the Pine River Channel and Lake Michigan. Watch the boats as they make their way to Lake Michigan from the front porch or walk to the Public Lake Michigan Beach just 100 steps away. Downtown Charlevoix shopping is just 3 blocks and you can easily stroll there by way of the pedestrian walkway that follows the Pine River Channel back into town.

This home includes 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with slate and hardwood floors throughout. The Master bedroom has a king bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. Each bedroom includes ample linens and storage. The kitchen is open and large with seating for ten.

BR B Amenities: /B BR We offer all the amenities of home. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator, electric stove, microwave and dishwasher as well as small appliances for your convenience (toaster, coffee maker, blender). Pots, pans, dishes and silverware are also provided.

The bathrooms are stocked with standard towels and washcloths (No beach towels are provided). The bedrooms are comfortable with linens and blankets provided.

Other amenities include color television with VCR/DVD ( A few family friendly videos are provided for a rainy day), iron, ironing board, charcoal grill, washer/dryer, wood burning stove, fans, cards, books to borrow, etc.

BR B Activities: /B BR During the summer months enjoy swimming at the beach, sunsets on Lake Michigan or a short walk to downtown for shopping and ice cream. The area offers numerous golf courses and all types of water activities from canoe and kayak rentals to fishing charters.

BR B Area: /B BR Charlevoix is a classic northern Michigan resort town with a charm all its own. Three beaches, access to boating, golfing, skiing, shopping and a wide range of restaurant choices make Charlevoix a destination in itself. really an amazing experience

when first looking at this listing i was a little iffy. but once we got to the house i was blown away. the house was the perfect size, fitting the 2 adults 3 teenage girls and a dog perfectly. the master bath was beautiful. the main bathroom was not the best but it did okay. the master bedroom was great a just the right size. and the bed was comfortable too. the bedroom with the bunkbeds was small but fit all of stuff the two teenage girls brought , and trust me it was alot. the closet made everything alot easier. the last bedroom was BEAUTIFUL the style and everything just was amazingly cute. the whole feel and decoration of the house really made you feel like you were on vacation.
the location of the house is really perfect. it is not even a minute walk to the beach and is on a little street with hardly any traffic. it is just a few steps to the canal which will take you to downtown charlevoix in a matter of minutes. it was really convenate. the only time that the area of the house got busy was around sunset. and even then it wasn't bad. the beach was beautiful, though the first meter into the water is rocky. but after that it is smooth sailing. i defiantly recommend going in on a wavy day and playing in the waves. dowtown is great. the best place for ice cream is kilwins. you have to try their waffle cones. but if you are in the mood for chocolate peanut butter ice cream try murdiks.
things to try
- cook a meal on the beach, there is a grill and the environment makes everything taste better
- rent a speedboat from the marina in town for a day. and dont forget to rent a tube too
- kayak on torche lake

Perfect Family Vacation

We just rented this cottage for two weeks and had a great time with our two small kids. The Cottage is very well maintained, well equipped and only 30 seconds walking distance from a beautiful sandy beach (with large playground). The location is perfect: walking distance into town, to the beach, to a big, new library and only a few miles driving distance from hiking places. Most importantly: the owners were friendly and concerned about our well-being from start to finish. Definitely recommend this vacation rental.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities

What a wonderful vacation. The cottage was very clean & comfortable. It's location is perfect for walking to the beach, river walkway and to the charming town of Charlevoix. Our party included my husband and I & our little dog; as well as my parents. We took nightly trips to the lighthouse to watch & phototgraph sunsets. Our miniature schnuazer Max loved the walks to town along the Pine River walkway.Our vacation began with Sunday Mass at St. Mary's. We enjoyed concerts in the park and day trips to Harbor Springs,Petsoskey,Traverse City & the enchanting Castle Farms.The fresh cherries were a treat and the search for Petoskey stones was a great adventure! We definatley recommend this property! Thank you - Shawn, Lisa & Max, Howard & Ann. PS - Our only suggestion to the owners would be to consider air condtioning.
