From here you can wander the mountains to find historical churches or challenges on Mount Grona, or drive the 10 minutes down to Menaggio on the Lake, or on to Como, the city at the end of the main arm of the 2 pronged lake, 40 minutes by car. Beautiful Bellagio is a short ferry ride away across the water, and everywhere you look is scenery that has bedazzled tourists and travelers for centuries. Lake Como and its surrounding mountains has been the top destination for Europe’s elite for hundreds of years and now it can be yours too. In Menaggio there is a wonderful Swim club, cafes and dining, the famous promenade, resplendent in flowers and palm trees, shopping and markets, and a fine golf is available in Croce, minutes up the mountain towards Lake Lugano. The house is positioned for easy access to all these things, as well as hiking, mountain climbing, biking and trips around the Lake and into Switzerland. The major “Interstate” highway is minutes away.

A day on Lake Como by excursion boat is one of the highlights of your vacation! The accommodations at Casa Belinda are sure to please. The house is set midway down a cobbled pathway close by the village church. Here you find a comfortable fully equipped modern kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, sink and appliances nestled close to a wood burning fireplace, with seating for 6 to 8 at the long kitchen table with its corner sitting bench. Bring your laptop for easy dial-up connection from the house or DSL just down the hill. There is conventional heat available throughout the home, and in the master bedroom with its queen bed and ample closets. The bathroom features a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with cabinets. Your linens and towels are supplied, and there is a washing machine/drier conveniently located in a separate room below the entrance patio. The loft area is accessed by floating stairs where two comfortable chairs can be converted to twin beds.

From here you can step up to the second floor balcony which overlooks the Lake and the town of Bellano on the far shore. The view is wonderful, night and day, with ever changing clouds and patterns of shadows playing over the mountains and the tiled roofs of the houses nearby. The house comfortably accommodates 4 people, parents with children or two couples. Everything you need is here to make your stay memorable and convenient. There is even a private garage for your car, just steps from the church. The town boasts the Chiarella Mineral Water factory, so you know the water is sweet and pure. From this location, with its summer breezes and mountain air, you can easily reach Lugano in ½ hours drive, San Moritz in an hour, Milan in about an hour and a half, and tour among the quaint and lovely towns that line the lake north and south of you. Hike in the mountains, lounge in the beautiful piazzas of Menaggio, or take the ferry down the lake, stopping at villages along the way..
