4 BR 1 BA--Rental Office open Year-Round

This cozy cottage is in the village of Huron, Ohio in Old Homestead Beach, a small, quiet area of year-round homes and summer cottages. Features include a huge sandy beach (rated among the best private beaches on the north coast) for sunning and lake swimming in the summer. From the cottage this beach is just a 5 minute walk through the lovely, safe neighborhood. The cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2 with a double bed each, and 2 with two twin beds. There is a large living room/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, 1 bathroom, and a spacious enclosed year-round porch. There is a washer and dryer for renters' convenience.

Amenities: Fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator and flat-top stove. Also microwave, disposal, coffee maker, toaster, can opener, all dishes, silverware, cookware, blender, eating bar for 2, iron & ironing board, heat/central air, small CD player, cable, TV w/DVD&VCR player in living room, TV on porch, patio in back yard with picnic table and gas grill plus beach chairs, rafts, and other equipment in storage shed beside patio. A washer and dryer were added in 2011.

Activities: Within the Old Homestead area there is a tree shaded park with picnic tables and grills, a children's playground, basketball and tennis courts, softball diamond plus the wonderful, sandy beach with lake swimming. Within walking distance there are grocery, drug, hardware store and several good restaurants including Berardi's Family Restaurant and Marconi's (fine Italian dining). Fishing is great (perch, bass, walleye) and the Huron Pier and Lighthouse can be seen from the Old Homestead beach.

Area: Huron & surrounding area: 5-10 minutes--access to the Huron fishing pier, major golf courses including Sawmill Creek and Thunderbird Hills, a fine library, banks, post office, grocery stores, well maintained & affordable laundromat, and other stores. There is also a community theater and one connected to the local branch of Bowling Green State University. Both offer high quality productions.

Extras: An amphitheater at the downtown Huron dock area has entertainment all summer.

Sandusky: 10 minute drive to large mall, book stores, gift shops, many restaurants, Kalahari (a huge indoor waterpark and gameroom), and Cedar Point (In 2004 rated as top amusement park in World for 7th consecutive year).

Vermillion: 15 minute drive to quaint shopping area.

Catawba & Marblehead: 25 minute drive to boat charters and ferry docks with hourly boats to Put-In-Bay and Kelly's Island.

Cleveland is 1 hr. drive to multiple activities including Jacobs field, Browns stadium, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, outstanding museums and orchestra, and a wonderful zoo, worth a whole day trip in itself!

Rental Rates for this vacation cottage rental in Huron, Ohio

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency () unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • From $150 per Night.
  • We rent from Saturday to Saturday (check-in 3pm & check-out following Sat. at 11am).

    The first $200 of the rent is required to secure the reservation.

    Balance of rent is due 30 days prior to scheduled arrival. Rent not received on time may lead to cancellation of the reservation.

    Pet fee $10 a day extra.


    Payments may be made by Check, Money Order, Cashiers Check or PAYPAL.

    WEEKLY ONLY June, July, August & 1st week of Sept. 1012. Weekly Rate: $850/week

We loved staying in this cottage - it's very comfortable and convenient, and the kitchen is well-supplied. A washer and dryer were recently added to the cottage. We enjoyed the front porch, the neighborhood is delightful, the beach is a short walk away. The owners put together a helpful binder of area activities and restaurants. There are free concerts at an outdoor pavilion in Huron every Saturday nt, just down from the "5 O'Clock Somewhere" restaurant - where they offer an inexpensive special each evening. We rented a motorcycle from the Harley Shop in Sandusky for a couple days - a fun way to see the area. Overall a wonderfully relaxing week!

We stayed in the cottage the week of june 17-24 and had an excellent vacation. The cottage was very comfortable and the area has alot to see and do in just a week. Thanks Tindale cottage and the owners.
Owner's Response: Wow! We keep getting encouraging comments about Tindale Cottage And our renters do everything they can to keep it in good shape and comfortable for future renters. Adding a washer and dryer this year is turning out to be a wonderful decision both for everyone to use while there AND by our renters helping me with the linens and bedding we provide for them.
