Welcome to our Island home in Paradise! Relax and enjoy our large1650 square foot, three bedroom, three bath condo, with its spectacular 220 degree views of the Pacific Ocean, beaches and neighbor islands. Our “end unit” and 3rd floor location makes this condo one of the most desirable, centrally located vacation rentals on Maui. The condo is updated with new beds, ceiling fans, and is fully airconditioned. Our daily cooling trade winds make your stay at A-322 even more enjoyable eliminating greatly the need for artificial air conditioning.
Sip your morning coffee on our large living room lanai, one of the largest here. You look directly at the ocean, rolling surf, swaying palm trees, and will delight in the sweet smell of plumeria blossoms. If you visit us in December through May you will have a chance to see whales breaching in the nearby ocean. Check out our large pool and hot tub, while making your golf or dinner reservations at our Activities Desk located poolside. Maybe you will want to 'surf the net' on our own, secure, FREE, high speed internet access available in our unit, or just stop by the exercise room for a workout. Tennis courts are steps away from your door. Oh, and we have the most spectacular sunsets right at our front lanai door!
When your enter our unit you will recognize the deep ocean blue of our new carpets and matched black granite counter tops in our new open kitchen. Our new stainless and black kitchen appliances will make your day easier as you enjoy the ocean view from the kitchen area. Filtered ice water and ice cubes are available on the door at a finger’s touch. Dishwasher, ceramic top range, microwave, garbage disposal are available for your use as are a coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, and toaster. We have tried to provide you with all the cookware, utensils, dishes, and glassware you will need to create your own dining experience in Polynesia!
Hawaiian floral prints await you in our roomy living area neatly appointed with koa cocktail tables. Our love seat, couch and sleeper sofa are trimmed with koa arms. Similarly, the dining room table and chairs are upscale, rare, Hawaiian koa. The warm koa blends nicely into the Polynesian décor.
As you enter the master bedroom you will be in awe of the large space, the king size bed with new mattress and box springs, and furniture ripe for lounging, watching TV, or just reading and relaxing. Most appealing is the very private second lanai with beachfront views of the ocean and West Maui Mountains. This second lanai is available only in Maui Sunset end three bedroom units so is a very special treat for you. A private master bath completes the suite.
The two “guest” bedrooms are nicely appointed with convenient twins, which feature new mattresses and springs, in one, and a new queen bed in the other. Mirrored closets are found in all bedrooms, and each bedroom has its own private upgraded bathroom.
We have remodeled the unit to accommodate a full size clothes washer and dryer. A new vacuum is available for your use if you need to tidy up for any of your Island guests. You will find beach towels, chairs, coolers, and other beach gear for your use while you visit Maui’s many other world class beaches. Please rinse off the sand!
We think our third floor location is ideal and the best. It is handy to the elevator, but only a few steps up to your door from your FREE off-street parking space. Use the pool key to unlock the security door. We love our island home and are pleased to be able to share it with you. We have tried to provide everything you may need for a wonderful vacation in paradise. We appreciate your visit and hope you come again!

We just love the ocean! So, naturally our vacations take us to water and beaches. Patty was raised on salt water so she is loves Hawaii. Lynn was raised in the midwest and certainly prefers the ocean to the prairie! We have tried Oahu and the city, tiny Kauai and its beauty, and Molokai for its remoteness. None compare to the variety we have here on Maui. We kept coming to the Maui Sunset so it was reasonable that we would own property here. We love to share our beautiful place here with others. We are happy to share it with you.
Patty or Lynn Frary purchased this condo in 1990
The Maui Sunset is one of the nicest properties on Maui for the location, convenience, beauty, and price. The grounds are impeccably maintained and are the "signature property" on Maui. The management always tries to keep the complex professionally managed. And, Maui? It's the best! Maui no ka oia!!
The unique benefits of A-322 at the Maui Sunset include.. The Sunsets, of course! Also the wonderful view from the lanai of the ocean, whales, and the grounds of the complex are second to none. The added space or extra room you get in renting a three bedroom unit makes this vacation choice all the better. The huge living room and dining room and a huge master bedroom tells it all. With upgrades and remodels this unit excels and exceeds the more expensive rentals further down the road in Wailea or Makena. It's no wonder guests choose the Maui Sunset.
We had a blast. what a great view and location, I thought the grass in the yard was fake, it looked so good, "its not". The unit is locted in a perfect spot on the island, Pool was big and clean, they really do a great job on the grounds, Condo was very clean and maintained. So looking forward to coming back and staying here, my family loved it. loved sitting out and watching the sunset every night. Thank you very much for sharing your home with us.... If you stay here you will not be disappointed,
We echo the same sentiments of the other reviews with regard to the great location, beautiful view, awesome accomadations. There were tons of little extras around that were so helpful, like ice packs to use in the cooler, some condiments and spices, etc.... It's so great to be able to use the beach chairs and toys, since we were traveling with my parents and our kids. The layout of the rooms was perfect for us and the three bathrooms and showers when you come back from the beach was sweet. It was also close to the elevator and parking area, with just a walk down one outdoor walkway.
The other thing that is great about this location is the town of Kihei. It is still a town geared to tourism but it seems more local and Hawaiian. It has great spots for yummy food that are reasonable. Try Coconuts in the nearby strip mall for the best Fish Tacos around! Such fresh ingredients. And an ice cream shop right next door with burgers for my kids who just needed a great burger, ribs and milkshake. We also had great surfing lessons at Waves Hawaii. We definately recommend the two hour lesson they offer. It gives a lot more time to have the pros helping you and pushing you off, etc... Kihei was also nice because it was centrally located to things. Easier to get to Hana, Haleakala, airport, etc... We drove south one day to snorkle with turtles at Waimea and north one day to snorkle at places like Honolua bay. We definately recommend this town and this home for everything an awesome Maui vacation requires!
My husband and I absolutely loved this for our two sons, 7 and 6 and daughter, 3. We have stayed at various places in Hawaii and rented through VRBO plenty of times This place was a great find. We definitely will come and stay here again the next time we come to Hawaii.
What all the other reviews have mentioned were true: Maui Sunset has a GREAT location - right on the water and quiet, but still close to shops and sights. The property layout is amazing - tennis courts, a putting green-like lawn that our kids could play on for hours, and a beautiful, uncrowded beach right behind that with almost no waves which was GREAT for small kids. We have stayed at other resorts but no one else has grounds like this. And the unit itself was a rare find: 3 bedrooms, an amazing view from the living area and master - you could even see the sunset from the kitchen which was a plus for the cook! It also had all the amenities for trips to the pool and beach - beach chairs, noodles for the pool, coolers, etc.
My husband and I rented paddle boards from the activities desk right by the pool and had a blast paddle boarding with the kids. We loved playing tennis there while the kids kicked the soccer ball on the lawn. There were so many other families there, it was easy for our kids to meet and play with others at the pool and on the lawn. And we enjoyed cocktails while watching the sunset from our lanai. It was also convenient to get to other sites and great beaches on the island from the Maui Sunset. Our favorite snorkeling sites were Black Rock on Kaanapali beach, Kamaole II, and Turtle Town in Makena. We loved this condo and can't wait to visit again!
We rented this property the last week of July 2011. I picked it because the unit had 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. My husband & I brought our 2 young adult children and 2 of their friends, so 3 separate beds and baths were essential. We loved the extra large size of this unit, the well equipped kitchen and top floor end of the building location. We never heard anyone next door or below us. The deck was big enough for all of us to hang out and have our meals and drinks. The unit sit above the tennis courts and has a great view of the water, sunsets and kite-surfers. We liked this location for people watching, and that it is located away from the BBQ area. That makes it a walk to go down and cook your dinner but that didn't bother us. The pool area is clean and has plenty of lounge chairs, great for after the beach and swimming in the evening. The unit is very well stocked with beach chairs, coolers, sand toys and beach towels. We used all of them! Everyday we packed a big cooler of drinks and lunch, gathered up all the chairs most were back-pack style which was great and headed out to one of the fantastic beaches. The beds were very comfortable and the unit was clean. We used the full size washer/dryer everyday. The kitchen had all the dishes, cooking pots, appliances you'd need and I apprieciated the large refrigerator with ice maker. The parking lot is big and easy to get to the elevator, it also has a vacuum and water hose to help keep your car clean and wash beach sand off your stuff. This property is located just north of the major restuarant & shopping in Kiehi. The kids walked but it's a little far without a car or the bus. You really need a car on Maui to see everything. We did the road to Hana all the way around (10 hours) and we loved it! Biked the volcano and we wouldn't do that again, went to the beach at Kapalua way to packed and not very good. The best time was beaching it and snorkeling at Makena Beach. This was the first time that our kids have been to Hawaii and they loved it! My son said "Why would we stay anywhere else this is perfect!" This is a great comfortable place to stay with 6 people and 2 more could easily sleep on the sofas. The owner was easy to communicate with and helpful. This is a condo property not the Grand Wailea, but the property is very clean and well kept, and the unit is big. The beach area is good for walking but you can't swim here which is a little disappointing, but we knew this before we booked.
Our week on Maui couldn't have been better for my wife & I, our daughter and son-in-law, and our almost-4 yr old grandson. The 3 bedroom condo was great so the grandson had his own room. Everything was just as the pictures showed, only "mo bettah". Ceiling fans, screened doors, and trade winds kept the air circulating, no need for A/C. The kitchen was well furnished, the furniture comfortable, and the washer/dryer a real boon. The supply of beach toys, towels, mats, umbrellas, and coolers made for easy beach going. The end unit has great views and almost makes you feel like you're in your own beach house.
We enjoyed Big Beach, Ulua Beach, and others. The on-site Hawaiian Style Activities desk had good recommendations and made booking easy. We attended a luau, rode ziplines, and went snorkeling at Molokini and Turtle Town, and we enjoyed them all. The pool and spa are great, and the huge lawn cannot be beat for soccer, Bocce, or just chasing grandkids. However, the highlight of every day was sipping cocktails on the large lanai while watching the beautiful sunsets.
The location is close to all kinds of shopping as well as lots of restaurants. Coconuts Fish Cafe for fish tacos or Ono burgers was our favorite.
I have already recommended this place to friends and relatives, and we would definitely return.
this beautiful condo is a dream. it is situated as the end unit with a magnificent view of the ocean. there is nothing like a maui sunset from the lanai. the living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom all have views to die for. it is well maintained with all you need for a comfortable visit. the property itself is conveniently located to shops, restaurants, grocery and drug stores. the swimming pool, tennis courts, grass area, barbeques, etc allow all kinds of activities. i highly recommend it to anyone.
The newest sport on Maui is riding the 'zip line.' Maui has 5 very different 'zip lines.' If you are adventuresome, give it a try. And, don't forget Maui has one of the best 'downhill biking' experiences around, the Maui Downhill, down the volcano , Haleakala. All 14,000 feet if it. Or, take a 'helicopter ride' to the top of Haleakala, or around the West Maui mountains. Maui, it's the best!
