The Dell Cottage: Wonderful 2BR 1BA Home, Sleeps 7;

The Dell Cottage has been enjoyed by our family for almost 50 years, and in 2006 we made this special place on Lake Huron available for weekly, year-round rental. Located just north of downtown Pt. Sanilac on a private road, you can enjoy 90 feet of lake front property. The property is 700+ ft deep which adds to the feeling of spaciousness and privacy. We hope that after your stay at the Dell Cottage, you will be as fond of it as we are.

The house sleeps 7, which includes 2 on a pull out couch in the large sun room. The sun room is a beautiful living space for use in the spring, summer and fall (not heated for the winter). With a 30 foot wall of windows facing the lake, the view from sunrise to sunset is awesome!

Come and enjoy the gorgeous view of Lake Huron! Watch the freighters go by, nap in the shade in the hammock, play croquet on the lawn, horseshoes on the sandy beach, or take a long walk along the Lake Huron shore.

In the evening, build a campfire on the beach and roast marshmallows with the kids. We also suggest you just lean back and stare at the beautiful starry sky.

Golfers should try the Huron Shores Golf Club which is just a 5 minute drive north on M-25. Boaters can launch at the public launch in Pt. Sanilac. There is plenty of parking space on our property for boats and trailers.

Master bedroom with double bed, 2nd bedroom with double/twin bunk beds; Window A/C in both bedrooms; Kitchen with oven/range, refrigerator, microwave, water purifier system, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, utensils and dining area. One full bathroom. Sun room has pull out couch, dining area, 2 ceiling fans; Living room with fireplace, satellite TV, DVD/VCR player. Satellite radio just added! Linens and towels provided. Grill, beach chairs, croquet, hammock, picnic table, glider swing, firewood.

Fishing, boating, golf, swimming, local diving and fishing charters.

Michigan's thumb is known for it's collection of quaint Lake Huron cottages and villages, and in-land, it's rural small town feel. Families from Metro Detroit have been vacationing in the Thumb for generations. Music in the park, arts and crafts fairs, barn theater and 4th of July parades are some of the events which make summer's in the thumb so special.

Nice quiet place

We rented the cottage over New Years weekend for a quiet couple of days. We really enjoyed the place. We could hear the water breaking on the lake as soon as we got out of our car.

Nice wood fireplace. The large three season room would be great any other time of the year. Would be a great place for family with a few small children.

We will definitely keep it in mind for a full week in the summer or a quick weekend to relax any other time of the year.

Great place to get-away from it all. Very clean and private with a wonderful view of Lake Huron. We loved the large sun room. We took walks along the beach every day. Willis' Market is very close and has everything you need. Uri's Waterfront Dining and Mary's Diner were 2 of our favorite places to eat. We also liked the First Mate Ice Cream Parlor located at the Port Sanilac Marina for dessert! I would definitely recommend staying at the Dell Cottage.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

A Beautiful Week!

We enjoyed our week so much along with our 2 dogs.
The home is in a private area with a beautiful view of
Lake Huron. We walked along the sandy beach with our dogs every day. There are stones here & there so recommend wearing water shoes. The home is cozy & yet large enough with everything you need. There is no washer or dryer for use but somehow it felt good not worrying about laundry. The only thing better would be if the property were mine! :) Lexington is a fun town to visit & Slap Water Jack is an great place to eat. There is live entertainment at a Theater near there, which we didn't know about in time. Check it out. The Stone Tavern in Pt. Sanilac is also excellent.

Fun and Relaxing

Summertime Review:
Everything we needed was here. Short walk down the sandy trail leads straight to a beach that offers a great view of the lake. The grocery store is about a 2 minute drive and they have everything you need.
The great room overlooks the lake - the view you see in the picture, and at night the skies are brilliant with stars.

I'd recommend water shoes for in front of the cottage areas of smooth stones in the water.

We caught perfect weather most of the time - but the one stormy day - was still great to overlook the lake as it took on a different view with dark green white caps rolling in. Fire pit outside is in a nice quite remote spot. They provide a variety of chairs - we recommend a cooler to take down to the beach.
Very nice gas grill - easy to light.
