'Sunset Center' is an adjacent pair of family vacation houses. The 'Ice House' is a new 6 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom vacation home featuring a private gated 24 foot heated swimming pool, 6 person hot tub, playscape, and wooded ravine lot. The house was just completely renovated, completed on June 24, 2006. The property is an easy 4 block walk down the sidewalk to South Beach, Kid's Corner, and downtown shopping and dining. All comforts of home are provided, including new washer and dryer, linens, new appliances (including refrigerator with ice and water dispenser, range, dishwasher, and microwave), kitchen utensils, free long distance telephone, free wireless internet connection, computer, 3 cable TVs, 2 DVD/VCR players, CD players, just to name a few. The house is perfect for families with children of all ages. The pool and hot tub are gated for your protection. The back yard is completely fenced. Need even more space? South Haven is a coastal city located on the eastern shore of beautiful Lake Michigan. The Black River Harbor is one of the most attractive recreational harbors on Lake Michigan. Summertime activities include swimming, boating, fruit picking, golfing, hiking, and biking. Dubbed as the 'Blueberry Capital of the World', South Haven hosts the annual National Blueberry Festival each August. Winter activities include skiing, sledding, and ice skating. Of course, the great dining, museums, galleries, and shopping is available year-round. The house is just a short walk down the sidewalk to the fabulous Kid's Corner Playground, which boasts a large wooden playscape structure that overlooks Lake Michigan. South Beach access is adjacent to Kid's Corner. The quaint downtown South Haven, with its unique shops, eateries, and pubs nestled along the banks of the picturesque Black River Harbor is also just a short walk down the sidewalk.

House Details: Family-friendly items included are books for all ages, toys, puzzles, movies for all ages, well-loved bikes, riding toys, high chair, full size crib with rocking chair, 2 baby gates, excersaucer, strollers, sippee cups, baby monitor, booster seats, and pool toys. Enjoy the flexibility and convenience of having 6 private bedrooms, conveniently located throughout the house! 5 bedrooms are upstairs. One is a master suite with private bathroom. Another full bathroom is in the upstairs hall. 1 bedroom is downstairs, also with a private bathroom. The house has a large 28 x 14 foot carpeted living room that includes 2 cable televisions (35 inch and 25 inch), each with DVD/VCR players. The hardwood floored 14 x 14 dining room comfortably fits an 8 foot dining table. The kitchen and adjacent powder room have ceramic tiled floors. The kitchen has sliding glass doors that open to the backyard deck and pool/spa area.

More House Details: All six bedrooms are carpeted. 4 bedrooms have ceiling fans. The house has 7 ceiling fans in all. All bathrooms have ceramic tiled floors. The master bedroom has a faux balcony overlooking the backyard pool area. One bedroom has a trayed ceiling.

Renovation Summary: The house was completely renovated in 2006. Renovations included new vinyl siding, new roof, all new windows, new wiring, 18 x 18 foot 2 story addition, all new carpet, all new appliances, new swimming pool, new hot tub, new sod, new deck, all new paint, new furniture, and new white vinyl fencing.

15 (8 adults, 7 kids) of us stayed at the house over Memorial Weekend 2007. We had a wonderful weekend. There was lots for everyone to do: pool, hot tub, swingset and sand box in the backyard, and the house was stocked with games and toys. This was the perfect place to stay with so many people! We didn't feel crowded and still had 2 extra bedrooms. The house was very clean and well stocked with needed items. South Haven was a nice, quaint community to visit. We enjoyed the beach, public playground, the shops, etc. We would definitely like to return for a visit in the future.

The house worked out great for our family reunion with 8 adults and two kids. The house was stocked with bikes, strollers, toys and all the usuals which made the kids stay enjoyable and of course ours as well. Definitely would consider again for a future trip.

We love, love, love this house. This is the second year we stayed there over Labor Day weekend. It has something for everyone. My kids enjoy the bikes, the pool and the walk to the beach. Us "old" people enjoy walking around town, shopping, the hot tub and the beautiful sunsets (not to be missed). It's the perfect place for a family get together.
Life is too short. Enjoy the family and plan a trip to S. Haven and this house. You won't regret it.

Our family stayed in the Ice house 8/16/08-8/23/08. It was fantastic! We had 11 adults and 7 children and there was something for everyone to do all the time. The house was very well equipped and well stocked. We had everything we needed and then some. We were really appreciative of the bikes/strollers/wagon in the garage and all of the toys in the house. The beach chairs were great! We put the clean pool and hot tub to great use. Everything was just perfect. Jim was wonderful to work with. We would DEFINITELY stay here again!

16 gueats (10 adulta and 6 children) We rented the house for our semi-annual family reunion. The house was spacious, clean and well equipped. The adults enjoy sitting and visiting, but the children want activity. The pool, hot tub, games, and toys kept them busy for hours. The adults also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. A 4 block walk to the beach to watch the sunset was another highlight. We had a great time.
