Houston, We Have a Problem
Don't bother with this place. The pictures are misleading and despite the late 6pm check in time, the unit was very dirty upon arrival. Many things were broken, falling apart, and the place was just gross. Our feet were black from the dirty floors. This place gets 1 star for the location and because the host was responsive at least.
Here is a list of issues:
Floors were sticky throughout the entire home, indicating they had not been mopped.
Thick layer of dust and grime everywhere. There were also stains on the ceiling and walls throughout.
No garage door opener and no garage door handle. This made entry and exit annoying.
Stair rail was shaky and felt like it was falling off.
The towel bars and curtain rods fell because they were not mounted properly.
The sliding doors could not be opened. Photos show an outdoor patio but you can’t access it.
Glass shower doors from photos were missing, replaced with curtains that had pink mold on them.
The dishwasher was broken.
We raised these concerns and they did offer to send their cleaning crew the next day. Recleaning would have displaced us for 4 hours, which was not feasible for our schedule. We did request thorough cleaning for family arriving later at adjacent properties also owned by this host; but those were also not clean, with reports of roaches. This appears to be a recurring issue, as echoed by other reviews. We left a day early to go to a hotel because we wanted to get out of there ASAP. Ruined our wedding weekend.
