Beautifully furnished vacation home is located in the middle of the charming village of Glen Arbor, which is surrounded by Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Most of the park's attractions are less than a three mile drive from our location. Crystal River Kyaking and hiking trails are a short walk from our location. Five bedrooms with five full baths: four are private suites, each with either a king or queen bed, full bath, TV with cable, phone, and high-speed internet access. The fifth bedroom features three XL-twin bunks and an over sized chair which folds out into a twin bed, TV with cable and DVD/VCR player. There is an adjoining full bath in the hall. Large kitchen with seating for 12, and great room with room for everyone to enjoy the natural gas fireplace or the 50' flat screen TV. There is a library stocked with books and games for guest's use. Attached screened porch and 2-tiered deck with gas grill in back facing woods for outside enjoyment. No smoking/No pets.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is one of the most beautiful places on the earth. Scenery 10,000 years in the making - and yours to enjoy for a day, a week, or a lifetime. Most visitors feel the need to return time and time again. The area also boasts many golf courses of every degree, vineyards and cherry orchards, and inland or deep lake fishing. In the fall the colors and the bike race (Tour de Leelanau) draw visitors from all over the world, and visiting the many wineries and galleries makes for lovely long fall weekends. Walking the beach at Glen Haven looking for Petoskey Stones is a great way to spend an afternoon. A short drive in either direction is the quaint towns of Empire to the south, and Leland to the north...both extensions of the National Park, and well worth a visit. The area also boasts some of the best restaurants anywhere. Come and see why this place is so beloved...and stay at Bearberry House when you do!!

Large, fully equipped kitchen includes Jenn-Air stove/oven, overhead microwave, and dishwasher. Fridge has wine cooler and ice maker. Service for 12 is provided. Kitchen overlooks the great room with it's floor-to-ceiling stone gas fireplace, large sectional sofa, and 50 inch flat-screen TV with DVD/VCR player. French doors open to a large screened porch; 2-tiered deck with seating for 12 - all facing the woods. Library with books, magazines, and board games, as well as a desk and sofa for quiet time or work.

The house has both high-speed and wireless Internet access in all rooms, Central Air Conditioning and ceiling fans in all rooms. 3-car attached garage, gas grill, and washer/dryer round out the amenities to be found in this private yet central in-town location. Linens and towels are provided. NO SMOKING. NO PETS. Activities:Kayak the Crystal River, Charter a fishing trip, rent a boat at one of two nearby marinas, use the in-town fitness center, shop the many galleries and shops, eat at local restaurants, play tennis and the nearby tennis courts and playground, tour the National Park Headquarters, climb the dunes, walk the beaches, hike or cross-country ski on the trails of Alligator Hill, downhill ski at The Homestead or Crystal Mountain, play miniature golf on the Crystal River, or just watch the resident wildlife from the enclosed back porch. Walk to most activities! Glen Arbor is in the heart of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.

Glen Haven museums, The Dune Climb, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive are all within a few miles of Bearberry House. The park headquarters is in nearby Empire (museum, theater, restrooms, gift shop) where you will also find shops and a great public beach.

Bearberry House is a beautiful, well-appointed house that made our family vacation extra special. The house offered every amenity necessary for a relaxing, comfortable stay. The house was spotless and it was evident that the owners take excellent care of their home. The owner provided excellent service. For example, the owner of the hardware store in Glen Arbor stopped by at the owner's request to make sure we had adequate gas for the outside grill. The location added to the enjoyment. We could walk to the tennis courts, playground, restaurants, grocery store, quaint shops and a putt-putt golf course was only a block away! We went to various Lake Michigan beaches every day--we especially liked the Empire Beach and the area where the Platte River flows into Lake Michigan. My granddaughters demanded to climb the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes each day and since they were only about ten minutes away, it was very doable. I would definitely recommend Bearberry House!!

Bearberry is a gem! We have stayed at Bearberry twice, and love EVERYTHING about it...it is a terrific home away from home. Every room is decorated beautifully, and the kitchen is stocked with top-notch cooking/baking equipment, which for me as a culinary student is very important. We have stayed at Bearberry both in the Spring and in the Winter...wonderful! We are headed back up in two weeks and are anxious to enjoy the fall colors as we relax in this very special home. We highly recommend Bearberry for anyone looking for a wonderful get-away.

We have been going to Glen Arbor for years and this is the finest home we have stayed at. It truely has all the features you would expect. The suites are wonderful. You can walk to everything! We are definitely returning to Bearberry house!
