Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

Keauhou Akahi is one of, if not the first condo complex in Keauhou, even though we have a Kailua-Kona address. This is where the Kings of Hawaii lived, ruled, and relaxed. It truly is a beautiful place. There is a small park with a plaque commemorating the area where one of the Kings had spent time just a few steps down the road from this condo at one of the islands smaller boat harbors. There are many other parks, beaches, and hidden treasures close by and also all around the island. A grocery, drug store, movie theatre, restaurants, coffee shop, doctor, and shopping is just a half mile away at the Keauhou Shopping Center. 'Snorkel Beach' is a mile away for a mostly protected by reef swimming area for snorkeling and surfing including a picnic area. An active volcano is a couple hours away by car as you drive thru coffee and macadamia nut plantations to get there. There is snow on top of the mountains in the winter with desert like conditions at Kona's airport. Then it's nearly a jungle on the other side of the island by Hilo. Active by day and quiet at night this area is a place to relax and enjoy. A place where you can find a deserted beach, plop down, and then realize you can't see anything but sand, sea, and trees. You can see turtles, whales, and dolphins in the ocean, with goats, pigs, chickens, turkey, and a few exotic animals as you drive around the island. Swimming with dolphins, parasailing, jet skies, fishing, boating, zip line, four wheeler, horse back riding, helicopter tours, and so much more are located on the island. Snorkel gear and two good quality full sets of golf clubs are in the unit available for your use so you'll have no airline extra bag charge fees.

This unit has a kitchen with good appliances, a microwave, dishes, coffee pot, toaster, blender, cooking supplies, and all the kitchen accessories you will need. Lots of pillows, big towels, master bed with 620 thread count linens, and a stocked bathroom. A big chaise lounge and a teak table with chairs are on the lanai. Inside is a living area with quality furniture including a oversized bamboo chair and couch, a couple of side tables, queen bed sofa with coffee table, TV with basic cable, and stereo with DVD player. The quality stereo has CD/DVD, surround sound, and an iPod player. There is a separate dining area with bench seating and a desk on opposite side. Mostly carpeted with some tile and painted in Hawaiian colors. It is one of the few units with air conditioning. The view from the third floor is what it's all about. It truly feels like Hawaii inside and out. No phone and no Internet/wifi. Your cell phone and the AT&T 3G/4G network works fine at this location. There is no elevator with 28 steps up to the third floor for the million dollar view from this unit. Better than a hotel by far as I make up for it with great amenities, extra comforts, and a home away from home feel that you will enjoy during your stay. When you stay here the place is all yours. So sit back, relax, and unwind.

About The Owner

It's all about the view. You won't find another condominium complex that has the view of Keauhou Akahi. I'm not kidding. Flowering trees, the pool, golf course, and ocean views all from this unit. Not many places can match that. With the privacy of these units and the beauty of the surroundings it's a place you won't soon forget. If you don't love it and move out within the first 24 hours of your stay I'll refund your money minus the cleaning fee.

Why The Owner chose Keauhou

This unit is the one on the third floor overlooking all you would want to see. The ocean with whales playing November thru March, the ninth tee box of the public Kona Country Club, flowers attracting the Monarch Butterflies and also the pool all just off the 'lanai'. The best part is almost no (if at all) neighbors can see you sitting on the lanai. It's very private. You could get away with not renting a car as there is a 'trolley' that runs up and down Alii Drive all the way to Kona. And remember the shopping center is only a half mile away. It's a four to five minute walk to the water and Sheraton Hotel or the public golf course.

What makes this condo unique

A million dollar view with warmth and beauty surrounding you on all sides. The Sheraton Hotel is just down the road but hiding behind Palm trees from your view on the lanai. Otherwise it's the flowers, golf course, and palm trees running your eyes toward the great ocean view. When the wind is calm you can smell the flowering trees. When its blowing you can hear the wrestling palm leaves. Add your favorite beverage and all your senses can be tickled in this one place of paradise. You are forced into a state of relaxation while staying here at Keauhou Akahi. A third floor view is ten times nicer than ground level. I can't imagine any disappointment.

Keauhou Shopping Center is a half mile away. This condo has beach chairs, beach towels, beach mats, coolers, frisbees, adult and children's snorkel gear, boogie boards, and a long surf board for your ocean days. For golfers there are two full sets of quality new mens Pings tall man and Ram golf clubs. Indoor activities include water color art supplies with easel, board games, telescope, binoculars, books, island guides, cable TV, CD's, DVD's, iPod, and stereo with surround sound for movies. Enjoy a full kitchen with an ice maker, rice cooker, steamer, blender, toaster, coffee pot, a new set of pots and pans, and new plate sets. Also several ceiling fans and portable fans, three air conditioners, mattresses with extra comfort padding, tons of pillows, and great art work make it a homey and comfortable unit. Included are every day living items such as tin foil, coffee filters, and bathroom supplies, with a washer and dryer in unit. All in a very nice 1,000 square feet including lanai.

    Large lanai with quality furnishings. I've never seen another rental that has a quality chaise lounge on lanai. I do. Be careful as you may fall asleep. Funny thing though is even at night if you fall asleep on the chaise you won't wake up cold. The warm evenings here are wonderful.

Notes: Twenty eight stairs up to get in on third floor. No elevator/lift. Parking directly out front. Unit is very private. Has a great ocean view, golf course view, pool view, and flowering trees view. So that's view view view view. If you know Keauhou Akahi my building (1) and my unit does NOT look over the parking lot from lanai. All major car rentals at airport. Taxi's available on island. A 'trolley' runs from the Sheraton all the way to Kona town and back every day. Restaurant delivery service in phone book.

What a nice quiet enjoyable stay.

This is a nice condo in a great location. With it being on the golf course and having two sets of decent clubs located for use in the unit we couldn't have been happier. The pool area has been refinished and looks beautiful. Then the views from the lanai are what makes this unit to die for. It truly feels like home in Hawaii while staying there. We couldn't have been happier. While these condos aren't the newest in town the older construction is something we look for as we believe they are quieter and more solid overall. The owner strives to keep things up to date as you can see with the new plugs and light switches as well as new toilets etc. We would not hesitate to recommend this unit to family and friends.

Very nice place that is clean and quiet. The view was great! Right on a golf course with perfect sunsets for glass of wine and a grill to cook on.

They had everything in there to use so that was nice. Lots of extras and cool books. Full stereo and TV entertainment center. Super comfy couch. Pool was great, right there next to condo and not many people used it.

For the price it was a steal for this part of Kona. The Keauhou shopping center is a few minutes down the road for groceries, dining and supplies. Love this part of Kona... Was stoked on this place for our Kona trip.

Looks like I am the first to write a review on the Keauhou Akahi. My husband and I stayed there in February 2011. Very homey, very personable.....also has every pc of equipment stored that you would need at the beach. We really enjoyed our stay there, loved that the pool was right next to the building, loved the view from the lanai overlooking the golf course to the ocean. But the thing I liked the most was the privacy on the lanai....
