These are two gorgeous architectural award winning houses in one, connected by a walking bridge. Nestled in the hills and meadows of Bolinas, this is a 3&1/2 acre estate of wide-open unobstructed views, deer, birds, gardens, oak trees, hills and meadows and fine architecture. We are located on Horseshoe hill rd., less than one minute from highway 1, 10 minutes from Stinson Beach, 4 minutes from downtown Bolinas (in the sun belt) and about 45 minutes from San Francisco. We are in the middle of some very beautiful nature.
The house is not like anything you've seen before and is custom built as is most of the furniture. (care MUST be taken).The property was and is known as 'Briarcombe' and was made well known as an artist-in-residency. It is a large house consisting of three bedrooms and two lofts for sleeping. (All the beds can sleep two/4 beds are queen & 1 is full size). Both house sections (bridge house section and the main section) are complete with full-operational kitchens and full bathrooms. Each have decks and each can be private from the other. Perfect for 2 families, etc. The main house section has a huge fireplace, a beautiful Yamaha baby grand piano and a wonderful (Japanese style) hot tub (just to mention). The bridge house section is multi-level and just too hard to describe. (Please watch the property video above). 2 bedrooms & 1 loft in main section. 1 bedroom & 1 loft in bridge house section.
The meadow is great for picnics (there are two picnic tables) and a full stage with electricity. There is also a really nice private basketball court among the oak trees.
The house is $750 a night in the low season (Oct -June) and $850 a night in the high season (June - Oct). There is a $250 cleaning fee for the full house. For events & weddings the cleaning fee is $350. There is a 10% tax on the rental amount.

If you are looking for something quite special and unique, quite different from the rest, Briarcombe is it.
We do charge for events (for example, bbq's, retreats, dinner parties and weddings) depending on the amount of people and usage. (We are not the place anymore for wild birthday parties or wild weddings and there are certain rules to be followed so neighbors are not disturbed and damage doesn't occur). That doesn't mean you can't have amazing birthdays and weddings here.
In general, for weddings and large events, the main house & cottage must be rented for a minimum of two days with a separate location fee of $3,000.00 for weddings of 50 guests or more (ask me for event rates). Rates are less for smaller weddings. The rental rates are not increased. There is no tax on the location fee (just on the rentals).The maximum number of guests for events on the property is about 100.
We can no longer have amplified music outdoors. Acoustic music is welcome.
