We arrived rather late on our Fri night & thrilled to see 4 bear on the resort grounds from time we entered till we reached our cabin (3 minute drive)! This made our trip! Over the entire two night trip we saw 6 bear, all within the resort. They didn't bother us, and googled black bear just to see how much danger (or lack there-of) we were in and learned that a fatal black bear attack has not happend in almost 300 years so I felt a LOT better. I know this isn't specifically realated to the cabin, but if you aspire to spot a black bear, you just may get your with in this l
Beforehand, I did my homework -- I read over 40 reviews for this specific cabin on multiple listing sites, and they all were very good to excellent. Overall rating was a 4.9 stars. The cabin is nestled between other cabins withing close proxmity but you won't notice that except when you're parking your car. Once inside, it's very serene, and the back porch runs the lenth of the entire cabin, has 5 rocking chairs a huge hot tub said to hold 4 ppl (but I you could easily seat 1 or 2 people if are smaller framed. Inside from photos I'd viewed before I was under the impression that the jacuzzi was a '1 person' unit; however, I was mistaken. My brother, his wife, and toddler son bathed in there *(together) every day and there enough room for baby swim and splash! The berooms are huge, the cabin is spotless. The main room has cathedreal ceailings, pool table, pull-out sleeper sofa, full kitchen, a full bath off the main room with a 2nd door opening to the master bedroom w/ king bed. 2nd bedroom is huge, king bed, and has its own full bath as well but has a shower rather than tub. washer/dryer unit in this bath. There is no working icemaker, so bring your own ice, and I was unable to get TV in guest room to work. NO Internet Access in this cabin, if this is important to you. We would have like to have it, but it was no big deal -- too busy taking in the sites! There's a nice pool table the our family played on for hours. Super comfy pull-out sleeper sofa in the great room w/ recliner, 6 person kitchen table too, full kitchen. The only downfalls - the charcoal grill out front was about 12"x16". NOT big enough to cook for family of 6 so we were extremely disappointed in this. BUT LOVED THE CABIN. Wish they had a grill that was acutally usable :-( Otherwise, the dryer was full of dirty towels when we arrived from a previous guest. So we were unable to use the washer/dryer..
