Had good back and forth with the owner to start out - of course once you pay, that's what the nice back and forth is usually about. Owner does NOT take credit cards, only checks - that's not a great indication. Even though negative info on internet (google unit) we gave him the benefit of the doubt. Arrived to a place that was easily 110 degrees with NO AIR CONDITIONING. Figured out quickly that there was none available and that the heat situation was a problem because there were no less than 5 additional floor fans around the place in addition to the ceiling fans. To try to cool the place down they all had to be running at the same time, which left you living in a wind tunnel rather than a beachfront condo with ocean sounds. Blinds on the sun side were broken - owner claimed "he didn't know" but would "send over handyman to check it out." Handyman never arrived over 10 days and the blinds never closed and the place never really cooled off except on rain days. The windows facing south in the bedroom may have helped with breeze off mountains but they are broken and could not be opened at all. So, pretty sweltering the whole time we were there, especially in the late afternoons when it would have been nice to be able to relax before heading out to dinner. After that, a road construction project started (owner claimed he didn't know about it but management stated all owners were notified). Upon return inquired with owner about an accommodation and his response was that he returned the security deposit "quickly" instead of holding it for 30-45 days! Also, place was in serious need of updating. Microwave didn't work. Sliding doors seemed to be off the tracks or unsafe. Cleanliness was also in question - the women that cleaned the place were great, but there's only so much you can do with old, greasy carpets and stained upholstery. Washer/Dryer old and in need of repair. Usual thing applies: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Buyer Beware.
