Greers Ferry Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-7)

Hub’s Hideaway is just what you’re looking for to get away from it all without sacrificing comfort and convenience. Hub’s is tucked away on a wooded hillside of old-growth forest with an open view of the serene Little Red River as it flows into Greers Ferry Lake. A variety of activities are at your disposal—fishing, boating, hiking, swimming, enjoying a wood fire, watching satellite TV, Wi-Fi, relaxing in the hot tub, sleeping in a large bed, and living in a charming cabin are all part of the deal at Hub’s. With only the sounds of nature surrounding you, you have finally found the place of your dreams. There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, or you can just curl up by the fire and soak in the peacefulness. Our hope is that you will find what you are looking for, and that your first visit to Hub’s will not be your last. For more information, photos, and reservation check out our website. Click on the link provided just under the calendar on this page.

Hub’s Hideaway is named after our grandfather, Herbert Feeler. Known by everyone as Hub, he worked hard his whole life on the family farm in the Ozarks. Hub enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he relished the times when he could get away for a little while to fish on the river—many times spending the night on the river bank, running his trotlines and yoyo’s. We’d like to think he would have enjoyed having a place like our cabin to come to.

We purchased this home for it's location in the beautiful Little Red River Valley. The home was in disrepair and we wanted to make it into a comfortable getaway. Extensive renovations were performed including: Complete new hickory flooring, pine vaulted ceilings, central heat and air, new roof, new bathrooms and kitchen, glass wall installed facing the river, re-screen front deck, install hot tub, exterior paint, and exterior grounds work.

Private and secluded setting in the woods and next to the river that flows into Greers Ferry lake. It's quiet and peaceful here. Boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, bike riding are activities at the cabin. The amenities include satellite TV, larger hot tub, wood burning fireplace, porch swing, and outside fire ring. There is an aluminum fishing boat tied up at the water's edge for use by our renters. Paddles and life jackets are provided. Bring your own gas or trolling motor if you like. There's no internet. There's pretty good ATT 3g signal. No Verizon signal.

The woodwork in this cabin is beautiful. The cabin is located 3 miles down a gravel road but that gives it the perfect feeling of escape from your normal life. It was so peaceful that we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be staying there again.

Good news. The boat was there where we leave it. It's tied up and upside down on the bank. We leave it up on the bank a little ways in case the water rises while we're gone. And upside down so it won't fill up with rain.
Please feel free to call me while you are there if something isn't working or you need assistance with anything. It's important to us that you have a good time.

The cabin was perfect. Clean, well supplied, right on the river and very private. I would rent it again. We were disappointed that the boat that was advertised was not there for our stay. I think we would have used it, as the water was calm and the weather was nice. But still, this was a peaceful and isolated weekend, just what we needed

Owner's Response: Leslie, please accept my apology and a small partial refund for the missing boat. I didn't know it was gone. Being able to paddle around the river is an added bonus for staying at our cabin and I'm sorry you weren't able enjoy that. The boat's been there for 5 years with no problem and I had used it there earlier this month. When the weather clears I will see if maybe it floated away or something. For prospective renters, if the boat is important, please check with me to see if its available.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hub's Hideaway. We tried our hand at fishing but the river is very low at this time. We decided to try the hot tub. It was so relaxing, what a special treat. Of course, we had to watch the Razorbacks play, too bad they lost. The cabin was so nice and clean. There was everything to suit our needs. There is a store close by if something is needed. The farm that you pass through is such a beautiful scene. The cows were trailing out to the pasture, the turkeys were scattering, and the view of the mountain there was something to remember. The road to the cabin runs along the edge of the river which is also a lovely sight. The address is a little confusing so just look for the sign on the gate. Make sure when you watch TV to leave the door open to the dish equipment. I wanted to wrap the whole weekend around me to always remember. Oh don't forget to watch for the camel and buffalo in the field of a farm on the way to Hub's. Glad to have visited Hub's.

Serene and Beautiful

Hub's Hideaway is such a lovely place, I'm not even sure where to begin. I'll start with the cabin. It's very clean and comfortable, with a wall of glass that overlooks the woods and river. Beautiful view! The kitchen was adequately equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, plates, cookware, coffee pot, etc. The bathrooms and bedrooms had plenty of clean towels and linens.

And what a location! Tucked in the middle of nowhere, but not a far drive for groceries, the views are spectacular! Wildlife abounds and we saw deer almost daily.

Activities we enjoyed - jumping from bluffs into Greers Ferry Lake, floating on rafts in the river, fishing, renting a pontoon boat for the day, and a day trip to Blanchard Springs Caverns and Mountain View. Great family vacation!

Local Activities

Fish from the bank of the river or launch your boat nearby from Stewart’s Landing, which is approximately ¼ of a mile down the road. There is a great place to pull your boat up for the night near the cabin.

Several types of fishing are available.

The river in front of the cabin is the West end of Greers Ferry Lake, where you can easily boat to for more fishing and water sports.

The Little Red River is great for canoeing and kayaking. When the water is flowing well, canoeing from the Shirley Bridge down to the cabin is a great day trip. It is recommended that you get an early start in order to watch the sunrise and nature come to life with the new day.

Sandiff Road is perfect for walking, bicycling, and jogging. There are numerous birds and other types of wildlife to enjoy.

Hike up the hill behind the cabin, and explore the woods and bluffs.

In cooler weather, enjoy the fireplace while popping corn and watching your favorite movies or football games.

In the Fall, boat rides and hiking provide spectacular views of the beautiful foliage.

Hang out in the hot tub or curl up with your favorite book on the screened-in porch, or with a nice cup of coffee in the living or dining room to enjoy the view.

Fairfield Bay is a small town located about 15 minutes away, with numerous amenities and activities that can be enjoyed year-round. Fairfield Bay has 2 golf courses, tennis courts, fitness center, bowling alley, and miniature golf course.
