A home away from home, this newly renovated cottage is in the heart of a wonderful historic district. The cottage is fully furnished and decorated in a classic cottage style. Prepare your own meals, or enjoy take-out from one of the many incredible restaurants Asheville has to offer. Relax in the living room or in one of the comfortable bedrooms. With plenty of space for you to unpack and stay a while, you'll feel right at home.
Walk to downtown, and along the way, enjoy the many beautiful homes that have been lovingly restored. Owners live close by, and are ready to assist you with your needs. A lovely place to enjoy your Asheville experience.

Area: Asheville is a wonderful vacation destination in Western North Carolina. This rental is in Montford, Asheville's oldest historic district, and is within walking distance to downtown.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 weeks in the cottage. Ben and Cate (the owners) are extremely friendly and accommodating. They live across the alley and are on hand if you need things, but don't hover or bother unless you call.
The house has a very nice floor plan that makes its square footage seem larger. The front living room can easily seat 5 or 6 while viewing TV; the dining room is comfortably sized for 4-6 and provides a nice work area if not being used for dining. The bedrooms and bathroom are off to the side of the house giving privacy and quiet. The bedrooms are comfortably sized with ample closet space for this era of home. The kitchen is galley styled and has what you need. The counter space is limited but sufficient for most cooking you'll do. A big benefit is the sitting room off the kitchen. You have a place for someone to go and read while others are using the living room, or if you get more guests than expected, you can use it as an overflow bedroom (all you need is a cot or air mattress). The front porch offers a great place to sit to have coffee or enjoy the evening breeze - complete with friendly neighbors who don't mind chatting.
The only negative on the house is the backyard isn't completely fenced if you're traveling with pets. However, with our 2 dogs, we didn't find it to be problematic and just leashed them when we needed to take them out. The backyard is sufficient for your dogs' bathroom breaks and provides good privacy from neighbors thanks to bamboo and other plants.
This is a very convenient area in Montford for your stay. 9 Mile (a very good restaurant) is literally around the block; you can walk to Montford Park; you have tons of options when you walk your dogs (every day, I was able to take a slightly different route); you can walk (15-20 mins) or drive (5 mins) to downtown; and you can easily get to I240 and I26.
It's hard to think you can do better. This is a very good value place to stay - the house is nice, you have room for yourself and your family/guests, it's convenient to so many things, and it's on a quiet street (that is more like an alley) that puts you 1/2 block from Montford Avenue and about a block from Cumberland. We definitely hope to return as our 5 week stay flew by - we can't believe it's time to leave.
