This is a brand new home. I am a retired homebuilder and this is the first home I built for my family. There was a lot of tender loving care put into the planning and construction of this home. When you see it, I think you will very much appreciate that. The furniture and decorations are mountain motif and were selected for comfort and enjoyment of our family and guests. Lake Tahoe is our favorite place on the planet. We are avid skiers who enjoy seeing the lake every day. The summers are fantastic and the fall and spring are wonderful too. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay. Look at links below for a Virtual Tour.
Joe Lynch purchased this estate in 2009
My extended family and I found this property in April and knew that we had to sign up as soon as possible in order to secure for our 2014 Christmas Holiday. The house is beautiful. The large, open kitchen, which is fully stocked with every utensil and equipment you could need, was perfect for cooking and entertaining. Our family has four small children who loved having the run of the house and their choice of bunkbeds. The movie and board game collections ensured that none of them had the chance to be bored. We received a couple of inches of snow on Christmas eve that was enough to give the kids a chance to sled for hours outside. Located on the west shore of the Lake, we had easy access to both Emerald Bay and Sugar Pine State Park for short hikes and great views. Joe, the property owner, was very easy to contact. His prompt responses were always thorough and helpful. The next time our family will need a large home for a visit to Tahoe, we have no doubt on where we want to stay!
I rented this home for a corporate retreat. Our group was a total of eight people. The owner Joe was very nice and helpful when setting up the rental. He was easy to reach via phone or email with questions or exchanging the rental documents and checked in on us before and after arrival to be sure everything went well. The security deposit was also returned very promptly.
This home truly has a calming effect from the moment you walk in - as if in a place so comfortable and beautiful it is hard to carry any stress. It is a gorgeous natural wood with an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen that feels very spacious. There is a great attention to detail in the house from the copper sinks to the little bear decorations that pop-up throughout the house. These all culminate in a feel that is refined yet homey. The best part of first arriving though is the view from the upstairs deck. The house is perched on a hilltop and from the deck you can look out over the tree line directly to Lake Tahoe - even catch a sunrise if you get up early enough.
The home has a second den area downstairs which came in handy when the group broke up a bit to do different things. This home also has a great mix of rooms with Queen or King size beds (5) as well as having 2 rooms with four bunk beds each. I could see how it would be great for a group of couples or families with kids. There is plenty of room for everyone to feel like they have their own space. Hot tub, grill and a large driveway to park multiple cars is also a plus.
The house is extremely close to a lot of great hiking in the area. It is literally only minutes from Desolation Wilderness where you can construct a hike anywhere from a pretty leisurely stroll to a full day or overnight backpacking trip. Our group went for the full day hike and were rewarded with great views and a good workout. It was a major plus to be so close to great hiking trails.
One note - the closest major grocery store is a 10-15 minute drive. I would recommend trying to do your shopping in one trip and just stocking the place. Also, the house didn't have any basics stocked (salt, pepper, sugar, etc) so be sure to pick those up.
Ultimately, our group had an amazing experience. We were all brainstorming reasons in the end for why we would rent the home again. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone looking to rent a vacation home in the Lake Tahoe area.
Great house for multiple families - we had 4 families with young families and two couples and had plenty of space. A beautiful kitchen that was well stocked made serving large meals enjoyable. The house is very new and in great shape. Close to Meeks beach and lots of other attractions. Would recommend to others with large groups!
My family of 4 generations celebrated Mother's birthday at this wonderful house. Mother did great getting in and out of the house, and didn't need to leave the main floor to enjoy the family and the beautiful location. Her only problem was climbing onto the huge bed in the master suite; luckily I found a step stool that worked just fine. The kitchen was big and open enough that we were able to prepare a massive four course meal, involving five different groups of cooks, for her birthday dinner, and no one got hurt or angry. What an accomplishment! We loved the house, and are trying to find another excuse to stay there.
My wife and I held our annual ski trip vacation with friends at this property. It was beyond our expectations. The actual house is very high quality, all appliances function well, the decor is tasteful, the sleeping/socializing spaces are spacious and comfortable, and the views and surrounding area are gorgeous. Everyone had an amazing time due in large part to the space and its amenities. We highly recommend it.
This was our 3rd time staying in this lovely home. Not only does the floor plan accommodate a variety of individuals (couples, singles, children), but it has every amenity you could need or want...even a waffle maker! We especially love the main floor layout; those cooking in the kitchen can still be part of the conversation with those in the living or dining room. The home is immaculate upon arrival and the owner is extremely easy to work with. Having two sets of washer/dryers means no waiting in line. Tons of room, wonderful furnishings down to the flannel sheets. This home lacks nothing! We look forward to coming back next year.
