Beautiful Venice Island, Heated 40’ Pool, Walk to Private beach.
Located in the prestigious and serene Golden Beach neighborhood, this furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bath home offers the best of Venice in its own secluded and beautifully landscaped setting. Furnished with touches of classic Venice from the overstuffed living room furniture to the Tuscan stone flooring. Sliding glass doors open the dining and living area and the master suite to the enclosed pool deck. The plan of this home allows a nice flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces. This home is the perfect retreat: open, bright, airy, quiet and comfortable.
Enjoy the comforts of home with cable, DVD, flat screen TV, stereo, central air conditioning, and laundry facility. The pool, enclosed in a screened Lanai, is 40 feet long (you can actually swim laps!) and is heated electrically, the only way to ensure comfort during winter months. (Solar heat simply doesn’t keep up.) Step outside the lanai and enjoy some of Florida’s best grapefruit fresh off the tree. Pool and landscaping are professionally maintained year round.
The Island of Venice is famous for being directly on the Gulf of Mexico and not on an intercoastal waterway. This home is a 5 minute walk to its private Gulf beach access complete with picnic tables, benches, beach chairs, outdoor shower and grill. Step onto Golden Beach and experience the unobstructed view to the horizon. The sunsets are spectacular. Stroll the wide sandy beach as you walk to Sharky’s restaurant and the Venice Fishing Pier to experience fine outdoor dining, live music, and to see what the local fisherman are catching, or just sit and enjoy one of Florida’s nicest beaches.
Golden Beach is about one mile from Downtown Venice and its palm-tree lined avenues. Stroll through antique shops and art galleries, bookstores and seaside souvenir shops. Stop to dine at an outdoor café, or pick up a cup of coffee or bottle of wine at one of the charming local shops. Just north of Downtown Venice are the jetties where you can watch the pleasure boats come and go or see the dolphins making their morning rounds.
Downtown Venice and its environs are connected by a vast park system, Venetian Waterway Park, which enables walkers to circle the entire island on foot. Venice alone contains 27 parks. The most popular downtown park, Centennial Park gazebo hosts free concerts weekly. Every Saturday Centennial Park is the site of a farmers market selling local produce, flowers, along with arts and crafts. On Venice Avenue is a free public recreation center with basketball, tennis, shuffleboard courts, and children’s playground.
Historic downtown Venice is built entirely in the Renaissance-style of the famous Italian city for which it was named. In 1920 city planner John Nolan designed the downtown area to be walkable and accessible. It contains only independently owned unique boutiques, restaurants and hotels. Live music emanates from the gazebo and street performers entertain the strollers. Horse and buggy tours of the city are available. The Venice Cultural Center offers concerts, plays, and lectures at discount prices. The Venice Art Center, recently restored and enlarged, displays rotating exhibits of local and out-of-state artists as well as art classes for children and adults.
Venice has an assortment of unusual and charming restaurants and bars, as well as a lively night life. Phat Cats jazz bar, Venice Avenue Wine and Coffee Shop, old fashioned traditional Soda Fountain Shop, TJ Carney's, etc.
Originally a tiny fishing village, Venice has experienced immense growth in the past 50 years. As more developers look to Venice, the Venice Area Historical Society has become active in preserving the city’s unique look and controlling growth. The society is integral in preventing overbuilding and restricting condo construction. It’s most recent accomplishment is the restoration of the old Venice train depot, the gateway to Venice through which the Ringling Circus trains used to travel. Now the depot hosts tours and contains small shops.
In a state of famous beaches, Venice Beach stands out for its vast white sand beach, vibrant shells, and -- on account of the ancient shark ”burial ground” off its shores -- shark tooth hunting. Venice Beach also has one of the last full-length piers on Florida’s west coast, and adjacent Sharkey's Restaurant. Water-sport abound - swimming, boogie-boarding, skim-boarding, surfing, fishing... Jet skis, and all variety of boats are readily available for rent.
The Bay Lady is a local boat that offers guided tours of Venice’s waterways. Excellent golf courses are everywhere.
Sarasota and its multiplicity of attractions and entertainment possibilities is just a short ride away. In spring 2004 Sarasota was designated by Fortune Magazine as one of five most appealing USA cities.
Some of the many cultural attractions in nearby Sarasota include The Ringling Museum of Art, Ca d’Zan restored Venetian estate of John Ringling, Mote Marine Laboratory Aquarium and Research Center, Selby Botanical Gardens with its renown collection of orchids and epiphytes, Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, Florida West Coast Symphony, Sarasota Opera, FSU Dance, Sarasota Ballet, as well as multiple theaters and art galleries. Of special interest for the kids in Sarasota are G Wiz Children’s Museum, Jungle Gardens, Spanish Point Historical Site and Indian Burial Grounds, Pelican Man’s Bird Sanctuary, Ringling Circus Museum, Planet Fun, Sarasota Car Museum, Pirate’s Cove, Water Park, Mote Marine Wildlife and Nature boating expeditions, and deep sea charter cruises.
The spacious 2 bedroom and two bath home was what we were looking for in a vacation rental property. The House was immaculate with plush bathroom towels and a very comfortable king sized bed. The pool was crystal clear and large enough to swim laps. The screened-in pool and lanai area were perfect for mild, bug free summer evenings. In fact, we ate all of our meals out there. The quiet, peaceful beach is an easy three minute drive or ten minute walk (we stroll) from the house. The main business streets of Venice were a five minute drive from the house, featuring good restaurants and all your shopping needs. We especially enjoyed the following restaurants, providing excellent service and good meals: Cafe Venice, Made in Italy, The Crows Nest, and Cassariano. The owner's representative was only a few blocks away and was available should any need arise. We definitrely recommend this home. We enjoyed our two weeks there and will definitely return.
We really enjoyed our stay being a short walk from the beach and a couple minute drive to the boutique shops on the island. Short drive to many great restaurants. Living room and Mstr bdrm had sliding doors to the pool. Home had bicycles, snorkels, tennis rackets etc. Ideal for families, couples or seniors. Our only problem was the parking for our 8 foot trailer, but we managed. We spent a great month in this home.
My wife and I stayed here for Xmas it was beautiful weather the house was very clean and is like home away from home.
The notes and info about the home functions were simple to follow and John was very helpful and accommodating on any questions we had.
The beach was a 5 minute walk and a 2 minute bike ride. The pool is big heated and relaxing and private we didn’t see a sole while we were there the property has lush tropical greenery that provide the ultimate privacy. From the home We could even hear the gulf of Mexico waves rolling onto the beach very pleasant surprise. This house was a great gem to find I hope others will enjoy staying there as well.
My parents live in Venice and it gets busy at their home when family is in so me and my wife will stay at flamingo and we will definitely be back again!!!!!!!
The property which is in a great location - quiet residential road near the beach and central Venice amenities - offered an excellent base for us to explore the beautiful coastline around Venice and inland areas. The large pool is a real bonus and one this large is relatively rare in a rental property. The property is well kept and has all the required amenities for a really comfortable stay. Some fittings are relatively older but everything is functional, clean and complete. The size of the property is more than adequate for 4 (we were two adults and two kids), potentially 5, but note that there are only 2 bedrooms.
As to the area, at one time there must have been direct beach access from the end of the road but this has been built on - the same applies to the end of the neighbouring road where a development is underway. In any case the better beach (Caspersen) is only a short car journey away. Venice itself is a delight - many great restaurants, bars and interesting shops and historical buildings as well as an interesting harbour and easily accessible from the property.
All in all an enjoyable and relaxing stay in an excellent Gulf coast family holiday home. We would recommend.
We've been to others but are returning to this comfortable house again soon. Each bdrm has an adjacent bath, one with a large tile shower and the other with tub/shower combo. Closets & drawers are empty and available for our belongings. Both the dining area & the master have lg slide into the wall glass doors that overlook the screen enclosed patio and heated pool. This outdoor seating area is weather protected by the home. Much of our time with friends is spent here. We've rented homes without a wahser/dryer and love that here we could do our laundry at home. We enjoy varied cuisines at the many area restaurants, walk the beaches, take day trips and classes at the Venice Art Center. The quality of the beaches and parks from Sarasota through Siesta & Casey Keys, Venice, to Englewood are outstanding. It's really nice to walk rather than drive to the Venice Beach. We were amazed at how sparking clean this home was for our arrival. Venice is made for visitors and has gotten better over the 20 years we have been visiting it.
Only a few blocks from the gorgeous beach and only steps to the very private pool. We really enjoyed this getaway. The pool is so private and relaxing, you can't even see the neighbors. The back of the yard goes to mangrove wilderness! The inside is tastfully decorated (with some elegant touches!) and well supplied with all of the little necessities of living in a house.
