New cottage and furnishings on eight manicured acres of Live Oaks with a small bayou running through the property. This is a very quiet get away for bird watching and letting time go by making MEMORIES. .
This property has been in the family since 1875. Hurricane Katrina destroyed 14 family homes at this location. A large front porch is good for catching the evening breezes from the Gulf. The cottage has a full kitchen, with all new appliances, granite countertops, and a coffee station. The large living area includes a gas fireplace, and flat-screen TV; bedrooms are beautifully appointed, and there are ceiling fans in all the rooms. The property includes a security system for protection of its occupants and its contents.

Property has been in the family since 1875 and this is the second structure to be built after Hurricane Katrina.
Bird watching, walking nearby beaches, riding bicycles, relaxing and reading on the generous porch; inspiring for artists and composers of music and literature. Surrounding attractions offer a variety of entertainment and dining opportunities.
Everything was perfect! Loved it so much we stayed an extra day!! We hope to return again in 2016!!!
Sandy & Robert, you know our heart is now pulling us to Long Beach, that accomplished by having such a wonderful place!!! You folks, neighbors and local businesses are wonderful. The cottage in Boggsdale is the 'crown jewel' giving us what we were looking forward to.... well done!
This is a beautiful and historic piece of a notable local family's property. Our family stayed in the cottage for four days over Labor Day Weekend. We have 2 boys aged 3 and 8. We live in a city so the park-like property with its wide open spaces and beautiful oak trees were the highlight of the trip for our boys. We spent hours playing football and wiffle ball then going on evening frog and toad hunts. An easy stroll down the gravel lane and you are at the beach which we had nearly entirely to ourselves the whole weekend as this stretch of beach is a good bit down from the closest public beaches. The cottage is the perfect size for a family of 4, is very clean, well appointed with everything you need and in great condition. The front porch was perfect for reading a book, enjoying the view and sounds of the acres of land around it and sipping a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The cottage is even well stocked with local books, maps and information on surrounding areas and points of interest. The owners were very accommodating and helpful as well. Historic downtown Long Beach, Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis and Gulfport are all just minutes away as well and worth exploring.
Not too much I can add that hasn't been said by other reviewers. The house is on a large, historic property where a number of homes were "removed" by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This is the first one to be rebuilt, so while at first glance it appears to be an older home, it's actually only a few years old. It's obvious that the owners care about their property, and included quality finishes and furnishings. My kids loved being able to run around on the large forested property where there's no traffic. It actually feels as if you're in the country, even though a Walmart is only 5 minutes down the road. This was exactly what this overworked and overstressed family needed!
Only a couple of minor issues, the biggest being no DVD player in the main room. Each bedroom had a small TV with a built-in DVD player, but it's difficult for more than two people to view. Other minor issue was squeaking and sticking doors, which some may find charming, but others may consider an unwanted "alarm clock". ;-) As I said, the issues were minor and far outweighed by numerous positives. We would certainly return (with DVD player in hand) if ever in the area again!
We have been using VRBO for many years and can easily say this is one of the best houses we've stayed in. The cottage is located on a very large property surrounded by big, beautiful trees. The house itself is very clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We enjoyed sitting outside at night on the front porch. The location was very peaceful. Its about a 5 minute walk to the the beach. We had the beach to ourselves everyday we were there. Very nice beach. The ocean is only knee deep for hundreds of yards from the beach so not the best for swimming. There is lots to do along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including many restaurants and shopping. The owners were very helpful and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Overall we would definitely recommend this cottage.
We loved the cottage, planning on returning soon. My husband enjoyed the front porch every morning watching the rabbits and squirrels, he could have stayed there all day. Thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely cottage with us.
This cottage is 65 miles to New Orleans to the West and 65 miles to Mobile to the East; both exciting areas to explore. The local area has 11 casinos with Las Vegas quality entertainment. Charter boats are available from 4 hours to as long as 4 day rentals. Numerous golf courses within a 20-mile radius. Two major art museums: the George Ohr Museum in Biloxi, and the Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs are short drives from Long Beach. Excursion boat to Ship Island, a barrier island 14 miles offshore leaves from Gulfport harbor. Excellent local casual and fine dining abounds.
