Prime location for outdoors men--great fishing and hunting area! Bait & party store directly across the street. Close to Minden & Verona State Game Areas where pheasant, deer & turkeys abound. The marina in Harbor Beach has two boat launches & docking facilities, as well as a fish cleaning station. Fishing charter service is also available locally. A pier & bathing beach park for swimming & picnics is within the City of Harbor Beach. This park offers a spectacular view of the lighthouse which sits inside the sheltered harbor. The city has a theater, bowling alley, restaurants, video rental, Laundromat & hospital as well as many unique shops. Many festivals held throughout the year. Numerous craft shows & water sport activities are held during the summer & fall months. The Can-Am Watercraft Races are held in the harbor in July with a gigantic fireworks display. Baseball tournaments are also held at nearby Port Hope.
Wagener County Park is nearby and has camping & picnic areas in addition to nature & bike trails. Three public golf courses (Huron Shores, Verona Hills & Ubly Heights) are within 20 miles for duffers in the family who like a challenge. North Park located at the north end of Harbor Beach on the west side of M25 directly across from the marina offers camping, picnic/play areas for family entertainment. Both parks offer shower facilities for campers.
A driving range is located 2 miles south of the home, with a bar and restaurant across the street from it.
The house is situated 4 miles north of the Village of Forestville.
Small boat launch & picnic area available at the Forestville Park, with a nice beach for sunbathing.
4 BR 1B Amenities: 1/B 4BR Home has fully-equipped kitchen including all cooking/dining utensils, stove, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster & coffee maker. Living room has satellite TV with VCR--some VCR tapes available for your enjoyment). 2 downstairs bedrooms each have double beds; 1 upstairs bedroom has a double bed, and 2nd upstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds. Rollaway bed also available. Double bed size sleeper sofa also available. Linens & towels are also provided (must bring own beach towels).
You'll need a cell phone since there is no phone in the home. Cottage has well water and also an Abso-Pure type water dispenser for drinking and/or cooking.
Large shaded 2 acre lot in a very quiet, peaceful setting provides lots of room for outdoor sports such as volleyball, badminton (must bring your own), or just relaxing. Picnic table & grill provided.
