The Cabin We Compare All Other Cabins To!

My family and I love the Timber Coulee Cottage! It's been a year since our last visit, but since then we've tried other cabins for long weekends and while they were nice, we always say, "Timber Coulee is still my favorite!" For my husband, it's the famous trout stream that is right outside the cabin door. He can't wait to go back during trout season to try his luck! For my girls (they were 8 & 4), they loved the bunk beds inside and the hammock outside, looking for the neighboring farm's bull, doing crafts on the sun porch, and hanging out in the screened-in porch (it was late October, so it was chilly!). For me, I loved everything about it! The decor is the best I've seen yet. You should see all the pictures we took for ideas to bring home - it's that pretty. I loved cooking in the kitchen and the girls & I worked all weekend putting together one of their puzzles. The fire pit was in a nice location with a great view and the girls had fun collecting fire wood from the shed. The Weber Q that was provided made me want to buy one when we got home! Everything was so clean and fresh, and bright and sunny. As you can see, I can't wait to go back. :) We stayed in the cabin most of the time but next time we'll try to get out and see more of the area (if I can talk myself into leaving). If I have any cons, I would mention our cell phone reception was spotty, but they have a land line for local calls and provide free Wifi that worked well when we needed it. And I would like to take walks right from the cabin, but we didn't feel comfortable enough on the surrounding roads to do so. However, there are so many opportunities for walking in the area that we'll do our homework to find something nearby before returning. Thank you Joyce for sharing this wonderful cottage and for telling us about the fun things to do in the area with our girls, like Gouhlies in the Coulees. We look forward to our return to your cabin and to the Driftless area!
