Great little place
Were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this rental. Owner was in steady contact with us and was responsive to all of our questions. Apartment itself is quite roomy (by SF standards) and is in a relatively quiet, somewhat residential area. It is a block away from Irving Street where there are many, many food options and other shopping as well. There is a little liquor store (more of a convenience store, actually) next door that was convenient for little incidentals. There is a bus stop on the corner (half a block away) and a train stop for the N-Judah on the other corner, so you have easy access to public transit.
As another reviewer said, the photos don't really do it justice. The one bedroom has an acceptable queen sized bed and decent closet. It has high windows which are shielded somewhat from road noise by some kind of wall (yet it lets in light and air through the windows). The kitchen is small but equipped (no microwave though). Has fridge, oven, coffee maker, and toaster oven. The bathroom is quite large--plenty of room for more than one person to get ready in at a time. When we arrived, the owner's representative brought us plenty of towels to last the 6 days (but there is a laundromat on the next block if you need it). The main living area had a full sized dining table with chairs. There are two futons which were folded down as beds for our kids--both kids slept fine and found the beds comfortable enough. TV has local channels only, and apartment has free wi-fi (owner's representative gave us the password when we arrived). Large windows can be opened to let air into the apartment, and it also has central heat (no air). This rental really was a hidden gem and we will not hesitate to stay there when we return to SF. The apartment is up a flight of steps, so take that into consideration. Great place to stay away from the hustle of the touristy areas, but with great access to transit to take you to those areas. Walking distance from Golden Gate Park, or a very quick bus ride. Definitely recommended.
