LAKE HAMILTON LOG HOME * SUMMER SPECIALS *

Our stay at this Lake Hamilton Log Home was exactly what we needed for our first trip to Hot Springs. The home is beautiful and very clean! We enjoyed the short walk to the lake each morning to give a try at catching a fish or two. The neighborhood dogs that hang out on the porch are so friendly and entertained us throughout the whole trip. Though the log home is about a 25 minute drive from Hot Springs, we spent each day in town and found the drive to be just right. We spent most of our time with family in Hot Springs, but if you are looking for something to do.... try exploring the Gorge at the Hot Springs Campground. We had a great time cooling off in the spring water and hiking up and down the creek looking for wildlife. We also took a hike up the trail that begins at the swimming hole. If you are interested in nature, this was an afternoon well spent. If we ever find ourselves in Hot Springs again, we will definitely try to stay at the Lake Hamilton Log Home. Our easter weekend at the Fowler home was wonderful. Despite no direct lake access, it was quiet and peaceful. The home was well equipped and in very good condition. It was just the break we needed. I took away 1 star for a couple of reasons
1) The home is at an intersection and has no drapes. Even though there isn't much traffic, people driving by can look into the home.
2) No toaster and no glasses! At this price range, I expected at least a couple of real glasses and a toaster. Otherwise it was very well equipped and supplied
3) The patio was extremely dusty when we arrived. We had to sweep up ourselves or it would have been unusable...not something I expect to do.
These were minor inconveniences and did not detract from us having a wonderful holiday but back now to Moose and Chulo who were the highlight of our stay. They are two pony sized white dogs that seem to rule the neighborhood. They adopted us for the weekend and came by every evening to stand guard on our patio...much to the chagrin of our 9lb yorkie/chihuahua! They were very entertaining and even escorted us on our morning walks! I'd definitely go back!

Excellent stay and flexible owners. We held a mini family reunion at this location for a week and we had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and off the beaten path. We loved spending time in the clear water of Lake Hamilton. The home is beautifully decorated and the downstairs master bathroom and whirlpool tub were wonderful. The kitchen has up to date appliances and was really user friendly.

Only suggested improvements are that the house needs curtains... no curtains on any of the windows. However, when looking around at the other properties in the area, this seemed pretty common on all the homes. The boat ramp was difficult to use because it is a dirt ramp. We managed to get the boats in the water but when it came time to leave, we decided to use a marina down the road to pull them out.
