Ideal retreat nestled on the banks of the Paluxy River. The house is a perfect lodging option for small group retreats, family vacations, or romantic weekends

Built in the early 1910s, the house has been completely remodeled and is tastefully furnished with family-owned antiques and vintage linens. The house is located on 1/4 acre on the banks of the Paluxy River with the Glen Rose historic town square just blocks away. The petrified rock house is 1,400 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, living room/ dining room and full kitchen.

Read a book while relaxing on the front porch swing or take a leisurely walk down to the river along the back of the property. The large redwood deck perched over the Paluxy River is a great place to sit and unwind.

We had a wonderful time at the Barnard River House. The home was beautifully restored with wonderful antiques as well as modern amenities. This was a wonderful stay and the owner was extremely helpful.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway

Cute but has some problems

Cute house, easy walk to downtown Glen Rose. Backyard and deck over river very pleasant. House clean and fairly well equipped. Bedrooms nice and roomy but mattresses just barely adequate for comfort. Has some maintenance issues such as an electrical outlet coming out of the wall and a significant plumbing problem with one of the toilets that rendered it unusable our second night at the house. Owner pleasant but hard to get hold of and made no offer to refund any part of our money due to the plumbing issue.
Owner's Response: We were so sorry about the plumbing problem. A plumber was sent in the next morning and the plumbing problem was fixed. We have also checked on and fixed the electrical outlet. We work hard to keep the home in nice condition and regulary update mattress to keep them comfortable.
