I cannot describe the peace we all feel here at Halemahana! What a wonderful home you have! It is so graciously set up to share with all of us. Everything is so comfortable we have not wanted for anything. The location is grand, very quiet, the views are stunning! I know we're supposed to leave, but we're already calling this "home"! We traveled as a foursome, but the house was so large, all we felt was privacy and peacefulness. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us! Your friends, The Dunn Family

Disappointing

When we checked into this house, the living room windows were not only dirty, but broken with signs "under repair" We couldn't even open them. The front door lock was broken. The ground floor bedroom door to the outside was broken--not a safe feeling. The advertised view was, unfortunately only enjoyed if you went outside. Even the master bedroom windows were coated in film. Patio furniture was pretty weak. We had only a card table to eat outside with. Place needs a makeover. The pictures on the web are outdated. We left 5 days early. The owner (who didn't show until day 5) refused any compensation for the days spent.
Owner's Response: Guest's comments are quite exaggerated. It seemed an excuse was needed to break the rental contract. Not having a legitimate complaint, guests attempted to "find" issues. There was no contact at the beginning of her stay to complain and she did stay an additional 2 days after we made contact with her to try to resolve her complaints. We did not refund her for the days she occupied Halemahana. However, we did refund her for the unused days despite the fact that she had signed our rental agreement and this was not premise for a refund. We have a number of returning guests, some who visit Halemahana twice a year; some who have been returning every year since 2004. Please come and experience Halemahana for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful home!!!!!!!!!

This home was exactly as advertised--even better in some respects! We can say it was the best vacation rental we have had for some time. Owner was responsive and home was clean with all the amenities one would expect. We all loved the cozy den! Good restaurants -- Tidal Raves, Kernville Steak & Seafood, Bay House, Kylos.

Suggestions: Would be super perfect if bath/shower combo was converted to a large walk-in shower. A few grab bars in the bathrooms would be helpful.

What an amazing home. We had a great time and really enjoyed the location. We watched as fog rolled in in the afternoon and the sunsets are spectacular. Thank you for making our stay a time to remember.
