Activities in the area:
Ski:
There are several ski areas located nearby.
Appalachian Ski slope is used by the locals. It is a smaller, family run resort. Consequently, it is especially great for families with smaller children to learn to ski.

Dear Judith:
The house is beautiful and so is the setting. It is just remote enough, nice and
high up on the crest and very centrally located. It is also very warm and
inviting and we really enjoyed the house. It also contained great resources
and information for things to do in the area, which was very helpful even
though it was our fourth summer in the area.Just my thoughts.
I hope that we can rent the house next summer because it was great. And
your neighbors are great also. Thanks to Danny, the Golden Retriever, we met
several of them.
Stay cool in Orlando.
