Recommendation for HeadofHarbor Cottage

It is impossible to write how much my wife and I have enjoyed staying that the Headof Harbor Cottage. We have been rented the cottage for a week in July for three years and are looking forward to returning a fourth year this fall. It is a very clean, comfortable and well furnished cottage located in one of the most picturesque locations on the East Coast. Bass Harbor is a true Downeast fishing town that in itself is worth the trip to visit. But there is also much to see and explore in nearby Southwest Harbor, Bar Harbor and of course Acadia National Park, all within a very short driving distance. And don't forget a ferry ride over to Swans Island for a trip back 75 years in time to the way life should be.
The kitchen is well suited for cooking any and all meals if you care to do that while on vaction. There are several very nice restaunts in Bass Harbor and Southwest Harbor if you prefer to eat out. The bedrooms are small but very nice. On a rainy day, you will enjoy the cable TV and the selection of books at the cottage or the very pleasant public library in Southwest Harbor.
I would recommend the cottage to couples or a family with no more than two young children. It is very comfortable, homey, and well furnished/maintained but a bit more suited for a couple wanting a romantic get-away in a private cottage rather than a family with energetic kids.
Please don't overlook HeadofHarbor as you search for a place to stay in Downeast Maine. If you are looking for a cozy, clean, comfortable cottage as a quiet place to stay and rest or as a "headquarters" for exploring all of the fun, beauty and adventure of coastal Maine, this might be the perfect place for you...!
