Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

This unit will provide you with a calm and relaxing Hawaiian vacation. It's on the 5th Floor (top floor) and is quiet. The Master Bedroom is quite large with it's own Lanai. This room has two ceiling fans and an extremely comfortable King-sized bed and leaving the Lanai door open will provide you with one of the best nights sleep you've ever had. A plus is that you will wake up to a serenade of tropical birds. There is a TV in the Master Bedroom for your enjoyment. The Master Bathroom has been recently remodeled to replace the tub with a beautiful large glass block walk-in shower. The Second Bathroom is a full bath with a combination shower/tub. The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need, including a rice cooker, coffee maker and a coffee grinder, just in case you want to get started right away on that Kona Coffee. The furniture in the living room is new and with two more ceiling fans and an air conditioner, you can be comfortable no matter how warm it gets. The carpet was replaced in October of 2011. The Lanais off of the Living Room and the Master Bedroom will provide you with a view of the Mountains as well as a small view of the Kailua Kona Bay. You can also enjoy Cable TV, a DVD player, Stereo and WiFi.

Kona Pacific is a popular complex in Kailua Kona, providing views of the Ocean from the Swimming Pool and Gas Barbecues along with tables for you to enjoy your meal if you wish. There is also a community room in the Barbecue area that you can use for gatherings. It contains a refrigerator and some community books for your enjoyment. The lush tropical foliage on the grounds are very nicely kept and help to further the Hawaiian experience.

Kona International Airport is 9 miles away, about a 20 minute drive. A leisurely walk away is Downtown Kona where you can enjoy the Sunset from several good Restaurants - our favorite is The Royal Kona Resort across Alii Drive from the complex. Also in Downtown Kona is the Farmers Market, where every Monday through Sunday you can purchase pineapples, mangos, papaya, avocados, tropical flowers and so much more.

Kona Pacific is a short distance from White Sands Beach and world class snorkeling at Kahalu'u Beach Park where you will also find Sea Turtles. Head South out of Kona and you will find yourself in Kona Coffee country where you'll find free coffee samples galore. Visit Pu'uhonua o Honauna, also called The Place of Refuge, Volcanoes National Park, and if you go to Hilo don't miss Big Island Candies and their wonderful chocolate dipped shortbread. Championship Golf Courses are nearby. Visit Kona and enjoy world class Beaches, Snorkeling, Parasailing, Dinner Cruises, Luaus, Kayaking, Diving and Deep Sea Fishing.

About The Owner

We are Bruce and Kathy McConnell and as you can see by our picture, we love the beach - especially Kona beaches. We live in Santa Rosa, California and are now retired. We have 2 sons who along with their wives have given us 4 beautiful granddaughters to spoil.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2003
Why The Owner chose Kailua Kona

We first visited Kona in 2003 and were drawn to the world class Beaches. It was then that we started thinking about having our own place on the Island. We found this unit in Kona Pacific. We liked the complex for it's location, the privacy and solitude it provides and the views. We enjoy our unit very much because of the comfort it provides when we visit and we hope to share that with you.

What makes this condo unique

What we find unique about this unit is that no matter what the weather is or how warm it might get, we can be extremely comfortable, especially at night with the comfort of the King bed, the open lanai and the fans when needed. The first thing we listen for when we get off the plane are the tropical birds and that is also the first thing we hear in the morning when we stay in this unit.

Kona Pacific is in an ideal location. A few minutes walk to Downtown, the Farmers Market and several great restaurants. Across Alii Drive is The Royal Kona Resort where you can enjoy a Luau with very good food and a great show. Their open air bar/restaurant is also a great place to enjoy a reasonably priced good meal while enjoying a beautiful sunset. For Ironman participants and observers, this complex puts you right in the middle of the activities without having to get in a car. Our unit is located such that it is away from any road noise and is very quiet. The City of Refuge is a beautiful spot to take a picnic lunch. Drive around the back and you will find picnic tables on the beach. The Coffee Shack South of Kona has an incredible view and serves a great breakfast. They also sell some pretty good Kona coffee. All of the State Parks in the area have a Junior Ranger program where your children can learn about the culture and earn Junior Ranger badges. (City of Refuge is one of them)

We were very comfortable and happy with this unit. Everything we needed was there, clean and in working order. The furnishings are comfortable and tasteful; the bedroom is huge, and the King bed is very comfy. The lanai view of the Kona pier is pretty both morning and night. The elevators made getting to the pool and to the designated parking spot easy and quick. Kona village restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We had a great time and highly recommend this unit.

Great comfortable place to stay

My wife and I enjoyed the property a great deal. It has everything and is actually nicer than the photos. The building/complex is very nice as well. Very good location with just a short walk to the main downtown attractions. You will not go wrong renting this condo.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review of our condo. We appreciate the kind words. Each year when we visit we do some project to keep the unit clean and comfortable for our guests. The proximity to Downtown Kona is one of the nice features of this unit, yet it is quiet. In just a few minutes you can be at the Farmers Market and the Royal Kona Resort is very close for a nice, reasonably priced meal at their ocean bar/restaurant.

Home away from home

We stayed at Kathy's & Bruce's condo for 6 weeks. It ended up being our home away from home. It was everything she said it would be. We were steps away from pool and parking garage. You really didn't even need a vehicle with the exception of getting groceries or if you wanted to do some sightseeing. Pool is beautiful and rarely used, 3 big weber grills, and eating area above pool. Never had to wait for grills. All in all it was a great experience and would go back.

What a Great Location

We go to Kona every year and usually stay at a resort. This time we chose a condo for a new experience. This condo was a gem. Huge 1 bedroom unit with 2 seperate lanai's. Everything we needed was included. Multiple ceiling fans everywhere which was really nice. Big walk in shower in addition to a bathtub in 2nd bath. The complex was very quiet, beautiful with underground parking and lovely landscaping. Kona village with shops and restaurants was just a 5 minute walk down the road as was a beach. Since we love walking into the village the location just couldn't have been better. Farmers market just minutes away where I could buy the best papayas. I would recommend this condo to anyone and we were so sad to leave....
