Quiet and serene, you have private access to the Trinity River where you can watch the eagles and osprey catch a fish in the river right outside your cottage - or you can fish yourself! Strawhouse Resorts is perfect for adventurous weekends to week-long relaxing vacations. Guests will be delighted by a clean, inviting cottage over-looking the Trinity River; a friendly staff; on-site coffee house and café with fantastic in-house organically-roasted specialty coffees; delicious breakfast options; gourmet lunch and private dinners on the beautiful Trinity River; wood-fired pizzas on the weekends, high-speed wireless internet access; and information on all the area's recreational activities.
About Don & Julia Ellis

Don and Julia Ellis are the owners and operators of Strawhouse Resorts. We love what we do and where we live, and would love to share that with you! Our theme is 'simple elegance' here on the gorgeous Trinity River where peace and God's beauty prevails. Your cottage is located right on the Trinity River. This picture was taken just down the road along the beautiful Highway 299.

What makes this cottage unique

You can relax along the Trinity River and watch the eagles and osprey (just to name a few of the birds that reside here) fly by. There is a good chance you will get to see one of them catch their meal right outside your cottage from the Trinity River! You can raft, fish, hike, or just relax in the serenity of the Trinity.

Had a great time. Enjoyed watching the dipper on the river. Enjoyed a heavy rain shower on the way back from Hyampom. Lots of fun overall.

This started off as a turnaround in your carpark and ended up as a wonderful 2 night stay in the middle of everywhere and nowhere where only really only magical things can happen, such as: children being children, family swims, amazing vistas, game night, friendly encounters, frogs jumping under my feet, dinner on the patio, and warm lovely memories. Thanks for taking us in from the long road from Oregon to Berkeley.

A visit by chance to remember forever.

Just hafta say wow!

Julia & Don are a special couple and their vibe (& with bro & family on a visit) is one of peace, tranquility & family. I will make it a personal objective to let everybody I know that this is a must go-to experience.
