Spring training camp and other sports venues are located just 10 miles away in Tempe and Mesa, and the 101 freeway takes you north to Scottsdale, just 20 minutes away. Continue south on US 10 to Tucson and visit many of the parks and mountain ranges along the way. The Lost Dutchman State Park in the Superstition Mountains (at 2,000 ft. elevation), Salt River and Lake Saguaro Recreation Area are just about 45 minutes drive to the east. The South Mountain is also just to the west of the Chandler/Ocotillo Lakes area.
For local attractions, Chandler has the Center for the Arts, a world-class facility located in its historic district which showcases talents from the opera, jazz musicians, plays and well-known headliners. The kids will want to go to Hamilton Aquatics Center, named the '2001 Outstanding Facility' by Arizona Parks and Recreation, which has a zero depth play pool, current river, two water slides and an 8-lane competition pool.
