Family Vacation, Summer 2013
Our multigenerational family - 6 adults, 4 children - grandparents through 3 year old, had a super time at the Log House! Room for everyone to spread out and also be together in one space, indoors and out, and the location is quiet as advertised. The setting is more beautiful than photos show; house photos only suggest the spaciousness and serene decor. House was very clean. We LIVED at the spacious dock and on the water. To appreciate the whole experience, one needs a boat with good size motor for water activity; we also enjoyed our canoe and kayaks rented nearby. Rafts or floats would have been a nice addition. Fishing was good in the lake and off the dock for the younger kids. Kitchen was more than adequately outfitted & we appreciated the 2nd refrigerator and good grill downstairs. Beds in King & Queen rooms comfy. Owners were helpful, even supplying a burner/propane setup for our lobster dinner followed by SMORES at the fire pit on the lawn. We suggested that bunks in downstairs great room need to be replaced/repaired and that the house should be checked for biting insects, but we had trouble getting children to close doors, so who knows the source. Main deficit is lack of window coverings in bedrooms; the sun comes up early! All in all, it was a great place for our family's wonderful summer vacation.
