Such a nice place to come home to....comfortable, clean and a quiet retreat.

  • 5 of 5
Having rented many homes and condos through VRBO I was expecting a nice place with adequate amenities and conveniences. This lovely home, however, exceeded my expectations by a country mile. It was very clean. The appliances were in great shape and everything worked just perfectly. With four bedrooms we had plenty of choices to find just the right bed. All of the furniture was comfy and inviting. After a long day of historical immersion the three of us could not wait to get "home." Unlike a hurry-scurry hotel with outrageous parking fees and a half hour wait for your car in the morning we were in a peaceful, welcoming neighborhood with plenty of easy parking and cooling shade trees galore. If you are looking to experience a wonderful slice of Americana, try this home in the Richmond suburbs, it beats the heck out of an over-priced hotel room with a view of a parking lot full of cars. The atmosphere at this "escape to a quiet neighborhood is just right for a relaxing get-away yet it is very convenient to markets, restaurants, parks and is right smack in the middle of all the history you can possibly absorb. I've been thinking about bringing my grandchildren to this true home-away-from-home for an incredible taste of our history just a short drive in any direction from this house. I had forgotten just how good it feels to sit back and relax "of an evening" while the sun goes down and shortly thereafter the lightning bugs put on their nightly performance. My grandchildren are from California, I can't wait to bring them to an evening's performance of one of nature's best "light shows." Thanks to Josh for keeping this treasure available to us who need a break from all the concrete and high rising prices. Ab Rhys from the far left coast.

Felt Like Home

  • 5 of 5
I lived in this house for about 3 months in the winter of 2012, when the owners were kind enough to let me rent it long term. It was the perfect home for me during a transitional period and I just failed to write a review until now. The house is very roomy and comfortable with all the amenities. The yard is fenced with a lovely deck. But the best part is the neighborhood and location. A great walking area with nice neighbors and convenient to anything you could want to do in Richmond. Owners were very easy to deal with.

great place in Richmond

Excellent Richmond house, perfect location. Great owner, very responsive to all questions/requests.

The kitchen is great, overall just a very very comfortable house.

Weather was just getting good when we checked out, so we just stared using the back porch and yard. It was great for our little kids.

Wow

My wife and I always stay in a home when we travel. It's just more convenient, comfortable and in most cases actually cheaper.
We have stayed in many a place over the years but this home was by-far the loveliest we had ever stayed in. Very cozy and comfortable in a beautiful neighborhood full of large trees. If you are in Richmond, stay here. You won't regret it!

vrbo #318462 house review

  • 5 of 5
Our family stayed in this house for the week preceeding our daughter's wedding. The house was immaculate, extremely well equipped with a very comfortable and accommodating set-up. Loved the house, the area and the convenience. The owner was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Home, Recommend Highly

  • 5 of 5
My family and I recently stayed here while visiting my son.

I was not too sure about the area and location but was pleasantly surprised when I got there. It is located on a lovely tree lined street. The area is very safe and the people very friendly. There is a playground at a school located right around the corner which my granddaughter loved.

Several supermarkets and drug stores are located very close. Martins, and across the street Krogers and in back of Martins is Fresh Market. Walgreens and CVS are right next to each other and in back of Martins. A hospital is just a few blocks away in case of an emergency.

It is close to Carytown for shopping and eating, the James river rocks at Pony Pasture for the adventurous, Maymont Park and Lewis Ginter gardens.
The house was impeccable - super clean and extremely well maintained. All appliances were new. The heat and air conditioner were brand new too and worked perfectly. Upstairs are 4 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms one of which is located in the master bedroom which also has a tv.. There’s also a cute cozy office with wifi. Downstairs is a beautiful formal living room, a formal dining room, a family room with a tv where we spent most of our time, and a spotless kitchen. The kitchen has a 2 chair breakfast bar, gas stove with a double oven, granite countertops, icemaker refrigerator and comes stocked with all utensils, cups, glasses, pots and pans. There’s also a bathroom downstairs. The only disappointment we all had was that we missed seeing snow by just 1 day. It has all melted in those 24 hours.

There is a large side yard where my granddaughter had way more then enough room to run and play. We had an extra added attraction - 2 chipmunks that came up on the deck to eat the seeds/nuts we put out for the birds.

There was a list that had all the information we needed. Instructions for everything written simply and clearly, including contact phone numbers. The descriptions and pictures of the house are exactly as presented here. We are definitely renting this house again next year. It is everything it's represented to be and then some.
