Wonderful retreat for a family

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Josh's house for a few days between Christmas and New Year's Eve. The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood. A grocery store and restaurants are a few minutes away. The Christmas decorations, including holiday dish towels, were nice touches. The house was Absolutely spotless. I hope we will be able to stay there again in warmer weather so we can enjoy the deck. Thanks Josh!

Great for a family

  • 5 of 5

We came down to run the Richmond marathon with our kids and in-laws. The house was a great set and well-located. It was even stocked with Keurig cups for the coffee machine. Everything was in good nick and worked well. We even found an awesome playground just down the street for the kids.

Comfortable home with amenities

  • 5 of 5

This was a very comfortable home, with all the amenities one might want for a vacation retreat. It was easy to get to Civil War sites all around Richmond and beyond, and nice to come home to this quiet location at the end of the day. The owner was also very responsive and easy to work with.

Such a nice place to come home to....comfortable, clean and a quiet retreat.

  • 5 of 5

Having rented many homes and condos through VRBO I was expecting a nice place with adequate amenities and conveniences. This lovely home, however, exceeded my expectations by a country mile. It was very clean. The appliances were in great shape and everything worked just perfectly. With four bedrooms we had plenty of choices to find just the right bed. All of the furniture was comfy and inviting. After a long day of historical immersion the three of us could not wait to get "home." Unlike a hurry-scurry hotel with outrageous parking fees and a half hour wait for your car in the morning we were in a peaceful, welcoming neighborhood with plenty of easy parking and cooling shade trees galore. If you are looking to experience a wonderful slice of Americana, try this home in the Richmond suburbs, it beats the heck out of an over-priced hotel room with a view of a parking lot full of cars. The atmosphere at this "escape to a quiet neighborhood is just right for a relaxing get-away yet it is very convenient to markets, restaurants, parks and is right smack in the middle of all the history you can possibly absorb. I've been thinking about bringing my grandchildren to this true home-away-from-home for an incredible taste of our history just a short drive in any direction from this house. I had forgotten just how good it feels to sit back and relax "of an evening" while the sun goes down and shortly thereafter the lightning bugs put on their nightly performance. My grandchildren are from California, I can't wait to bring them to an evening's performance of one of nature's best "light shows." Thanks to Josh for keeping this treasure available to us who need a break from all the concrete and high rising prices. Ab Rhys from the far left coast.

Felt Like Home

  • 5 of 5

I lived in this house for about 3 months in the winter of 2012, when the owners were kind enough to let me rent it long term. It was the perfect home for me during a transitional period and I just failed to write a review until now. The house is very roomy and comfortable with all the amenities. The yard is fenced with a lovely deck. But the best part is the neighborhood and location. A great walking area with nice neighbors and convenient to anything you could want to do in Richmond. Owners were very easy to deal with.

great place in Richmond

  • 5 of 5

Excellent Richmond house, perfect location. Great owner, very responsive to all questions/requests.

The kitchen is great, overall just a very very comfortable house.

Weather was just getting good when we checked out, so we just stared using the back porch and yard. It was great for our little kids.
