Barn, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

You won't see another property like this. The barn renovation took us years to complete and we are very proud of the finished product. Ample space to entertain. Our custom made dining room table comfortably sits 16-20 people! Sit back and watch the deer/turkey/pheasant go by your window. Full upscale luxury in a museum quality building that won't disappoint you. It's all about the details ! You can entertain at the game table, sit by the wood burning stove, have the children play on the WII, work out in the gym, sit in the sauna/hot tub/take a hike. Golfers: 3 Miles from Copake Greens on Copake Lake. Boaters: rent time/boat on the lake. Hikers: 20 minutes to Bash Bish Falls! Its all here and a its paradise. We built this barn as a guest house for our friends and family to visit, and with the daily family routine, we no longer have the opportunities we used to go use the property. We've had plenty of happy renters return time and again. Please check with me for winter rentals, as we only rent on exception during the ski season! Its beautiful year round, amazing spring, summer, and spectacular fall months.

There is so much to do in Columbia County in the summer. Biking is one of our favorite things to do. Enjoy Summer Theater at the MacHayden Theater. Try out Catamount Zip Line Park (6 miles away), go to the Ore Pit Swimming Hole (its really a fun place to take kids), take a hike on the Alander Mountain Trail near Bash Bish. Jiminy Peak is 40 miles north and has a lot going on year round.

I'm sorry I cannot accommodate Weddings, Bachelor Parties, Films, Legislative conventions, Insurance Conventions, Pig Roasts, Live Animal Sacrifices, or any Parties in excess of 8 people at any time. Sorry !

I've owned this property for over 20 years, and its my favorite place to be year round. We've done a lot of entertaining here over the years, and our friends love visiting. We even had our wedding reception on the property!

I didn't choose to buy a vacation rental! We built the barn so our closest friends and family could come and stay us, while having their own space. We put a tremendous amount of thought and time into every detail. It's not your typical rental!

The barn is an exceptional property with all the amenities for a luxury family vacation. We stayed 5 days during ski season with 4 adults and 5 kids (ranging from 8 to 1.5 yrs.). We never felt on top of each other when cooking, eating dinner, or relaxing. Sleeping accommodations allowed the adults and toddlers to stay in the 2 bedrooms, while the older children slept in the loft on twin beds. The children loved the open floor plan which gave them plenty of room to move around, while the owners, Joe and Lisa, provided Wii, Direct TV, board games and even toddler toys to keep everyone entertained. The large hot tub and sauna located downstairs ensured the adults relaxed after a day of skiing. The great room upstairs, with vaulted ceiling and soothing lighting, provide a sophisticated setting, perfect for enjoying the incredible sound system. Overall, the property is very clean and the owners are easy to reach should we have needed anything. There is also substantial storage for ski / snowboard equipment so its not in your way. We skied Catamount and Butternut which are both a short drive away, allowing enough time for us to get back and enjoy the barn! Would love to come back in autumn to enjoy the grounds and explore outdoors.

Stop considering other places and book this place now! It is a rare find. My group of friends and I loved our time here-- exploring the large property that includes a small pond, a beautiful trail and exquisite views... hanging out in the amazing kitchen or eating at the insanely big wooden table... relaxing in the hot tob and suana... exploring near by towns of Hudson and Great Barrington... marveling at the design of the barn... relaxing by the fire... hanging out by the large coach and tv... grilling... this place has it all. There are two private bedrooms and two full baths so it is perfect for two couples. And the loft space provides several extra twin size beds for kids or other guests. I would highly recommend this place to any one who wants a relaxing getaway, on a unique, private, beautiful property.

The drive from Brooklyn was easy and we'll certainly be back again soon.

And the owner was fantastic-- helpful with all our needs!

Dream Getaway! All that and more!

Words can not express the sheer joy we all had staying at the Barn. The barn is truly incredible and had something for everyone. We were 2 families (+ dog) vacationing together with children ranging in age from 6 to 12. The kids couldn't get enough! From the foosball, sleeping in the loft, roaming on the property, playing the Wii and board games, to enjoying the hot tub. This place has it all. The adults got the rest and relaxation we needed and the kids were entertained every minute. We spent the day at Taconic State Park (loved the ore swimming hole), took hikes on the property, visited Millbrook Vineyards, and took in the July 4th fireworks at Kingston. The accommodations were spectacular - super clean and roomy - everyone had their own space. And my gosh, the downstairs 3-head steam shower - pure bliss! The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked and we cooked virtually all our meals there. The owner is a joy to work with. Very attentive and responsive. Helped us out with area attractions. The barn renovation is truly a showpiece and just remarkable. The architecture was stimulating yet relaxing to enjoy while laying out on the couch. We will certainly be back!!!

Great Modern Escape from the City

Had the pleasure to spend a few days and nights in Joe's modern take on a barn. When you first walk in, the lofty high ceilings really gave me the awh and excitement of being away from the city. The owner has definitely taken his time and money in meticulously detailing the place - I was impressed by the sound system, modern kitchen, and the backyard amongst all the other great amenities.

Another plus to this place is that it isn't so far away from manhattan. About 2:15 hours by car.

Looking forward to visiting the place in the future
