Gatlinburg Vacation Rental chalet

We stayed here in June 2008. We had a marvelous time in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the National Park. There is so much to do that we will have to return to do all that we wanted!

The chalet was gorgeous and wonderfully decorated. The view really was breath-taking! There is a balcony off of the main-level dining area with a hot tub (great for relaxing and enjoying the the view) and also a small balcony off of one of the bedrooms upstairs that allow guests to marvel at the beautiful mountains. The kitchen was well-stocked and we were able to cook dinner without a problem. Location of master bedroom / bathroom suite was ideal for my parents who have trouble with stairs. Balcony on main level allowed them to enjoy the view.

This chalet is literally "at the top" of Gatlinburg. It is located in a community that is as far up the mountain as you can possibly drive! The description of the chalet was accurate. It had all the amenities we wanted and the pool was very close (but cold... don't think it's heated!).

I would definitely recommend this to a friend. The reasons for the 4 rating (not 5):1. Broken dryer. The owner got back to me right away when I called and told me that he was waiting for a part that wouldn't arrive before we left. We packed 1/2 of the clothes we needed, intending to do laundry. We ended up putting a clothes line off the top balcony. They dried quickly, so it wasn't a problem. 2. It wasn't as convenient as I thought it would be to downtown Gatlinburg. It was about 15-20 minutes up the mountain. With small children, I probably would choose a place closer to town next time so we could go "rest" without a 30-40 minute round trip. 3. On a personal note, I was not used to the high altitude and the drive up and down gave me a headache and I had some dizziness. Just a caution!

Again, great stay, beautiful place. Fun trip. Ideal for people who don't want to go back during the day.
