Great Fishing!:
The fishing in this area is excellent with backwater, pier, deep sea and especially Tarpon and Redfish. The keen angler will probably have seen Capt Jarrett Lombard on the ESPN channel competing in the annual national redfish competitions. He is young and enthusiastic and offers a great fishing experience to a maximum of 3 guests on one of his 'up to the minute' flats boats.
He also offers Tarpon fishing in season which is very popular. The great Tarpon, or Silver King is a game fish and people travel from around the world to experience the excitement of catching this highly prized game fish. Anyone who has seen the Tarpon 'rolling' out of the water off Boca Grande will never forget it.

We can arrange a boat trip for you with a network of local guides. The guides can turn a boat trip from fun to memorable because of their experience of the area and knowledge of the area. If you want to find some of the wildlife that can only be seen from the water, they will know where there have been recent sitings. There are no guarantees, but for the best chance to see dolphin, manatee, turtle, tarpon, sharks and maybe even otters in their natural environment, go out with a guide who will even take you to an island where you can buy an 'unusual' lunch!
Boat hire is available at several marinas locally and again, the local office will be more than happy to help you to book your own trip if you prefer to 'go it alone'.

If you are visiting Florida earlier, the American League Champion Tampa Bay Rays have their spring training camp at the newly renovated Charlotte Sports Park. The season opens on Wednesday February 25 against the Cincinnati Reds and runs until April 04, 2009.
