Beautiful Place to Spend Time With Family

5 of 5
Submitted: July 3, 2011 Stayed: June 2011
We just returned from spending 9 nights at the Burke Tile House and had a fantastic time. We spent nine nights there with my mother in law, wife, four kids and our dog. As one reviewer mentioned, the house comes equipped with virtually everything you can possibly need to make it feel like home. We spent a great deal of time using the boats and swimming on the very private beach. It was absolutely perfect and the kids had a blast. There is plenty to do in the area and we recommend visiting the Gaylord farmers market that they have downtown on saturdays and wednesdays. The grill was perfect for grilling some local fresh fish. Thanks again for such a delightful place to spend our vacation. We hope to see you again soon.

Relaxing & Beautiful

Relaxing & Beautiful

We just returned from a week at Burke's Tile House. The home is warm and very clean and comes equipped with everything you need. The property is AMAZING, so beautiful and quiet! Everything was perfect, including the beach, fire pit, use of kayak, paddle boat, canoe and row boat and convenient storage shed down at the beach. There is a sand bar not far from the beach that my boys (7, 10, & 12) went to with the paddle boat, then, later when the bravery set in, they swam out to. There is also an island on the lake that we went over to with a sandy beach, fire pit and some short trails. A fun adventure! Burke's tile house is a great place for a family to reconnect. We look forward to making many future memories here!!!

Wonderful Home to Vacation at

5 of 5
Submitted: August 2, 2010 Stayed: July 2010
This was our second vacation at the Tile House. Both experiences were wonderful. We had children there that were 1, 3, 6, and 8. The lake was perfect for them and for us adults. So relaxing to be able to sit on the beach and have them swim and not worry about a big drop off. They spent everyday playing in the sand, swimming, and fishing off the floating raft. We took them fishing on the row boat, canoe, and pontoon. Nights were spent having bonfires and watching the sunset. The weather was perfect all but the last day we were there. Its so peaceful there. Its very clean with all the conveniences of home. We cooked and barbequed every night that we were there and the kitchen is loaded with any kitchen gadget you would need. If you have a bad weather day and you have kids staying with you, BCs Pizza is a great place to go. They have a pizza buffet and an indoor play structure. I just can't say enough about what a great place this is to stay. We had a great week reconnecting with our family and making fun memories. Thank you for opening your home up to us!

Wonderful Family Vacation Home

Burke's Tile House is a great place to vacation with young children. The water is pretty shallow out to the end of the dock. Our grandchildren loved it and so did we. Our Adult children enjoyed fishing, canoeing and kayaking. We all enjoyed the paddleboat. The beach was perfect. The weather was wonderful the week of July 11th through July 18th. Highs in the 80's low's in the 60's. We had 2 overcast days with two rain showers. We spent one day on
Makinac Island, it was very pretty. One night the kids went miniature golfing and had ice cream at Mooney's. The rest of the week was spent relaxing, enjoying the sun, water, campfires, smores and family memories. Staying here was the best because we had all the conveniences of home and all the fun of a vacation. Hopefully, this will become a tradition in our family.

What a great place to stay on vacation. We had 4 generations, baby Bella 19 months up to Grandma Gloria 77 yrs. We all had a great time. The beach area was great for the kids and adults. We enjoyed the quietness of the area. The house had everything we needed. This is a very safe and wonderful place to vacation with small children. Hope to return.
