Nestled on an acre of private property at the end of the road, this two bedroom vacation rental is just five miles north of Blairsville shopping and restaurants. Picnic on the private creek bank, enjoy nature and sounds of the creek from the upper deck, or relax by the stone fireplace inside! If you're seeking an easily accessible cabin with a creek, and that is close to town, yet private, this is it (and it also has all the conveniences of home!)
A train ride through the mountains can be had in Blue Ridge, only 30 minutes west; whitewater rafting can be experienced in nearby North Carolina, horseback riding is available nearby! There are many things to do in the area, and we have a notebook on the kitchen counter with brochures of many of them!
Just bring your food and personal items and lock yourself away for a truly peaceful experience at this conveniently secluded creek front cabin!

We were 'just looking' when we ran across this cabin. The minute we drove through the open wooden fence, we knew we 'had to have it'! The place was not actually for sale at the time we found it. We arrived there at 10 a.m. and had made an offer by 12:00 p.m. The couple who owned the cabin decided that they would accept our offer, and move back to Florida ahead of schedule to be near their children, as they were getting on up in age!
After being at the cabin for a day I told my husband that we should definitely name it 'Peaceful Creek Cabin'! He agreed! When you visit the cabin, and read comments from our guests, you will find that they also agree - most of them comment that we named the place perfectly because that's exactly what it is - 'Peaceful Creek Cabin'!
When we are lucky enough to go to the cabin ourselves, it's usually to clean the yard, or check for things that may be broken, and fix them. We usually have to work, and don't have much time for relaxation. However, even work at the cabin is a pleasure for us - just being able to be there is great, and I always hate to leave!
I have been so pleasantly surprised at the gifts that some of our guests have left us! I've found signs, weather vanes, hanging decorations, and even a hand painted picture of the cabin yard! Awesome! I have met (over the phone) some of the nicest people ever! What began as a very big job to learn how to rent the cabin, has turned out to be such a pleasure because of the great people with which I have interacted!
The location is great - very secluded and peaceful. It's tucked away at the end of the road. You can't see any other homes from the property and the only time we heard neighbors was when they mowed their grass. One of the most relaxing places we have stayed in quite a while. We were able to sit by the creek in summer without bugs buzzing around us which was nice. The yard looks like a state park area and is spacious enough for kids to play. The description says that he creek is at the end of the drive but it was actually closer than I expected and could be heard from the porch. Although clearly an older home, the house was extremely clean and smelled great when we walked in. Everything we needed was available and the owner readily answered any questions we had via email. The beds were not as comfortable as I prefer - I'm spoiled with my super soft bed - but comfortable enough. Good for those who like firm beds. There was a bit of an issue with condensation from the air vent in the living area but if we kept the door shut it reduced the problem. The porch area is nice and adds to the relaxation. There was a good breeze and as I mentioned, the creek could be heard from that area. Parking was difficult with the boat we pulled to the cabin but for individual cars it is fine. There is a washer and dryer but they are in the basement which was musty following a recent storm. Other than that, I did not see any problems with the home or property - very well maintained. I particularly like the stone accents outside - it added to the ambiance. My husband is never really able to relax but commented more than once that this was the most relaxed he has been on vacation. I would not recommend this property for those who have difficulty with stairs. The stairs are good and solid but there are several steps required to get to the house.
Wow!!! Another great visit at "Peaceful Creek". This was our 3rd or 4th time renting this cabin and it was just as wonderful as before. The cabin is so private as it sits at the end of a street and is surrounded by national forestry. It truly is the most peaceful place. One and a half acres of big trees, a running stream, and grounds that make it feel like your own private park. Wish we had been able to rent a place like this when our kids were little-they would have had a ball playing in the stream and "exploring" the property. We did our usual hiking and picnicing around the area, we just LOVE Blairsville and all it has to offer outdoors. This WAS our first time being there in a summer month and although it WAS quite warm outside (our first time using the A/C!!!), we were still able to be outdoors somewhere, everyday.Vogel state park is one of our favorite places, as is Brasstown Bald, various falls, Unicoi state park, and our usual trip to Helen to "Betty's General Store" and a walk through town.
The cabin has everything you'll need. The grill and table out by the creek are great for dining by.And my favorite is morning coffee out on the porch, and "happy hour" on the swing. We've only been home a few days and I miss being there already!!!
You will not be disappointed in this cabin whatever the season. We so enjoyed the cooler months when we've stayed here with the fireplace going and surrounded by all the colorful leaves in the fall, and all the new growth coming in in the spring.Peacefull Creek totally lives up to its name!!!!
We chose the Peaceful Creek Cabin based only on the available photos and reviews. It was so much more! Even though the temperature was dangerously close to 100 degrees while we were there the beauty of the grounds kept us exploring despite the heat.. The creek was so inviting. The cabin itself was wonderful. The king sized bed was perfect for my extra tall husband. Everything was so clean it made us feel like we were in a 4 star hotel. I have no doubt that children would love this cabin as much as my husband and we did but the silence of our own little world at Peaceful Creek Cabin was the most relaxing of anyplace we've visited in years. We're in the process of booking our next weekend for November.
The location is incredibly beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. A sweet little road carries you down to this very private spot, where the brook babbles (thanks for the owner's adjustments to the rocks!) by, and the mossy ground is spongy under your feet. There is shade and sun and beautiful trees, as well as a fire pit and campsite like grill, and a bench and picnic table right next to the creek. The owner's have maintained a beautiful landscape, with iris and clematis in full bloom while we were there (June), and lots of little touches around the grounds.
You will see from the pictures that the cabin is up several steep stairs. This would make access for a senior difficult and impossible for someone in a wheelchair.
The cabin itself is fine. It is not my style of decor, but it was comfortable. The main room does not have much natural light, but we were outside most of the daytime.
The kitchen has lots of old fashioned kitchenware, which was really cute, but it was short on some things like no potato peeler, for instance.
The ice machine was not on when we got there so ended up backtracking to the Save a Lot for ice right away, and had to make another trip for toilet paper later that day.
For the price, though, this place is a steal, and perfectly good. You can't beat the location, for sure!!
Thank you for a WONDERFUL birthday getaway!! My twins loved your cabin and truly took advantage f the yard! We ventured out into town and enjoyed riding horses at a nearby stable. Our twins will be turning 4 and have been wanting to go to the beach! I think we have found our new "special place" and will be celebrating it here instead!! :-)
Just want to Let Jan and Reggie know how much we enjoyed our stay.
We found the cabin to be very clean and to have everything you could want. It lived up to all the pictures and more. The creek with it's bubbling sounds and the shade trees made for very relaxing days.
Blairsville is a nice little mountain town in Union County, GA. Union County is largely national forest, so Blairsville is not nearly as commercialized as other mountain towns.
Vogel State Park, Lake Winfield Scott and the Appalachian Trail can be found right outside Blairsville. Lake Nottely is a very large TVA lake that spreads through most of the town. Brasstown Bald is located in Blairsville, the highest point in Georgia. There are several beautiful waterfalls to be seen near Blairsville: Desoto Falls, Dukes Creek Falls, Heltoln Creek Falls and Horse Trough Falls. Helen, Georgia is only about a 30 minute trip from Blairsville, and Hiawassee with the State Fairgrounds (where there's always some activity happening) is a short distance away.
Tubing is available on the Nottely River in Blairsville, and gold panning off of Hwy 129 south. Whitewater rafting is only an hour away for a nice day trip.
Blairsville offers Butternut Golf Course, and beautiful scenery!
Golf: Butternut Creek Golf Course 15 minutes away in Blairsville.
