About this property

Walk to town from this comfortable, pet-friendly 2-bed 1st floor apartment

Capt Moore is a warmly presented and inviting 2-bed, 1.5 bath first floor apartment set on the first floor of a large restored Victorian home in Camden.

Within walking distance of town, the property offers clean and comfortable open plan accommodation for a maximum of 4 people, and one-well behaved pet. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you will need for your stay, with a few dry pantry items to get you started. The dining area features a dining table with four chairs, whilst the main living room offers two couches, coffee and end tables and a ROKU TV.

There is laundry room which is shared with Capt Smith, our 3-bed listing, and some basic laundry supplies are available for your use.

Off-street parking for one or two cars is located at the back of the house, marked as "guest parking" which is off Megunticook St, from which Capt Moore is accessed. There is a deck for outside dining, a patio set and a gas grill is available for your use.

We are a very pet friendly family, and our own menagerie consists of dogs, cats & chickens! If you would like to bring your furry loved one with you, we ask that they are also pet friendly. Please make sure they are up to date on their vaccinations, with current tick & flea treatment. Our pets will be naturally curious to meet you, especially our two cats.

Location, location, location!
Great place in every way - besides the very convenient location where you could walk anywhere in Camden, the owners were very welcoming and kind. The apartment is so well equipped, they had everything you could want for cooking in the large, open kitchen. Having access to the washer/dryer was great, too. Very nice accommodations, would recommend to everyone.

A little about us…

We moved to Camden from Tampa, Florida in 2016. We are a family of five with three beautiful daughters and a couple of dogs and a couple of cats (I’m sure they will make their acquaintance in due course). We also have a few chickens that will also probably want to say hello!

Unsurprisingly, we fell in love with Camden and the beautiful surrounding area, so much so that we decided to make the life-changing decision to relocate our family here. It is a wonderful area and safe environment to raise our daughters, and there really was no doubt that this is where we wanted to be. Erik retired from the US Air Force in 2015, so the move here really has been a lifestyle change as well as a life-changing one. I am British and Camden really offers a home-from-home "English" feel.

The history of our house, and Capt Moore, is an interesting one - the previous owners bought the house in 1996 and it had been empty and neglected for the previous three years before that. Our home had been originally built by a sea captain, Capt Outhouse, back in 1903 and has since been lovingly restored (and thankfully renamed!) into the beautiful family home it is today, for us all to enjoy.

We sincerely hope you have a very happy stay in Capt Moore. If there is anything we can do to make your stay even more enjoyable, please do not hesitate to let us know!

With our very best wishes.

Jen & Erik

Why they chose this property

Capt Moore is ideally located to town and trails. The accommodation is level with just one step up to the deck. The apartment is furnished and equipped with all you will need for your stay, from soaps and lotions to shopping bags and laundry facilities. We are a pet friendly family, and our pets do live in our part of the house, except for the chickens :)

What makes this property unique

Capt Smith is our other 3-bedroomed seasonal rental. Both Capt Smith and Capt Moore are joined, and can be rented out together to make one big homely space, ideal for larger families. Please ask host for more details.
