About this property

Modern Home: "Gorgeous design, breathtaking views"

Brand new home offers gorgeous space, stunning views, surrounded by nature. The perfect place for sanctuary, peace, and fresh air. The home has a brand new air conditioning system for maximum comfort on those hot summer days.

This is the larger side of a "duplexed" property with an adjoining guest suite. The two sides can be combined if you want more space and privacy.

(Note: This property is not a good fit for loud groups, as it is in a quiet residential neighborhood. Please see rules about strict quiet hours.)

The space
Modern and luxurious with loving design touches, the Mountain Sky Sanctuary makes the perfect retreat to connect with self and nature.

This beautiful home features high ceilings and huge windows showcasing the stunning mountain views, and offers one bedroom, a loft space (open bedroom), one bathroom, living room (with couch bed), dining area, and a full kitchen.

Your bedroom is as elegant as a five-star hotel with plush queen-size bed and 5-foot picture window overlooking a private landscape of juniper trees.

The multipurpose loft has two fold-away twin beds, allowing it to be easily re-purposed as sleeping quarters or a space to do yoga, meditate, or just hang out.

Enjoy your modern bathroom, with natural slate tile walk-in shower and farmhouse touches. The kitchen has brand new appliances including a dishwasher and gas range, and is equipped with all the amenities you will need for a convenient and comfortable stay. Your living room, dining area, and kitchen flow together and an open floor plan so you can enjoy the views or cozy gas fireplace as you cook, dine, or just relax.

You have easy parking, TV with streaming channels, high speed internet and air conditioning. The property is fully furnished and equipped, ready for you to settle right in.

Dogs are welcome (no cats please). If your dog travels with you, please let us know as we have pet amenities available for your use.

The Mountain Sky Sanctuary property sits on over 2 acres of land, with no neighbors on either side and backs up to a greenbelt area ensuring privacy and quiet for your entire stay.

Guest access
You will have access to the private "house side" of the property as well as the outdoor areas by the front and back doors.

Other things to note:

Expectations on Amenities:

Unlike most homes in this mountain area, this property DOES have air conditioning. But if you prefer to enjoy the mountain climate with open windows, there are portable fans for your comfort.

Spiral Ladder:
The loft is accessed by a spiral ladder which is not ideal for children or those who are uncomfortable with non-conforming stairs.

Noise:
We ask guests to respect quiet hours after 10 pm both inside and outside. Noise travels and we want to keep our neighbors happy so we can continue to make this space available for guests like you!

Want more space?
The whole house including the suite is available for rental if you desire more space and full privacy and quiet - please inquire or check out my other listings for details.

A wonderful location for one night in Crestone!
We enjoyed our brief stay at this modern mountain/desert retreat! The kitchen was equipped with all of the necessities plus some extras, the decor was clean but cozy, and the views from both the front and back of the house were amazing. We feel it might be important for other guests to know that that the stairs up to the loft were a little more steep, slick, and narrow than we expected. My mother in law was planning to sleep up there, but ended up sleeping on the sofa bed instead as climbing down during the night to go to the bathroom would have been a challenge. Just something to know if traveling with people who may not be physically capable of climbing. Everything else about the place was perfect and we would definitely return!

Beautiful, modern, convenient
I wish we had more time at this property. We did an overnight stay for a day in Crestone to see the religious and cultural sites. The property was impeccably clean, well appointed, and very convenient to Crestone. Simple check in/check out. Great instructions in the home and very few check-out chores. What a VRBO experience should be.

Hello and welcome! My name is Tracy. I'm from Massachusetts, but I live in Colorado now and I absolutely love it. I recently bought this new home in Crestone, and I'm thrilled to be able to share it with you!

Why they chose this property

You feel the peace of this home the minute you walk through the door. There are amazing views of the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains and enveloping juniper trees. Once the sun sets and the sky is clear, you can see the most magnificent bright stars. This is the perfect place for sanctuary, peace, and fresh air.

What makes this property unique

Crestone is a natural place for retreat and there are numerous retreat centers representing various world religions and meditation practices. By day you can enjoy gorgeous nature hikes with views of the majestic peaks and endless valley. It's a starting point for Crestone Peak, a challenging Colorado 14er in the Sangre de Christo Mountains. Crestone is a dark sky community, making the stars at night worth the trip alone. The town itself has an small organic grocery, a few lovely restaurants, a cafe music venue, an art gallery and and several consignment and gift shops.
