A word of warning

My friends and I chose to use rent through Sondra based on the good reviews so I feel as though I should put a word of warning out to those using reviews for the same reason.
On a positive note, The unit was nice and the view was awesome. Although the elevators in the building are very busy and we had to take the stairs a lot, this unit is located very close to one, so when they weren't busy, it was convenient. The rooms were a good size and having a dishwasher was handy.
The problems began after we went to .a paint party on our final night of the stay, which resulted in a FEW bath towels being stained. As far as we knew, this was the only damage done. A week after our stay, Sondra informed me that of the security deposit (which was increased due to spring break time), we were getting only a small portion back.. The cleaning crew claimed there was a stain on one of the sheets (this may or may not have been true) which required them to order a new set. They also claimed they needed to replace EVERY towel, hand towel, and wash cloth, which is FAR from what was damaged.
All this being said, we simply asked for a receipt of this order as proof that we were indeed being charged what was spent. After over a month of waiting, this is the exact reply that I got from Sondra, "First let's get something straight. The (money-VBRO won't let me write an amount) is not a fine. (money) went into this unit after your departure for towels, hand towels and master bed sheets. I do not have to show you anything but offered to do so. My housekeeping has all my receipts and as you can imagine they are very busy turning over condo cleanings on a daily basis. I will not keep bugging them for this receipt. I trust them and have for years so until things calm down and they are focused on their bookkeeping I will not force this on them. I charged you (money) for replacements not fines so please just move on."
Unless you are okay with doing business with someone who does not feel they are required to show you proof of purchases should something occur, I would not recommend renting with Sondra.
Owner's Response: I am sorry this guest felt to try and destroy my reputation of excellent reviews and very happy guest, a lot of repeat guest at that. Since 2009 I have only kept one security deposit until this guest arrived. Spring breakers do not care if they destroy your property and can't understand when they do why they have to pay for replacements. What this guest is not telling you, I gave her the benefit of doubt. I ask her what happen to all my linens, she freely admitted going to a paint party. As anyone can imagine "a paint party" is just that PAINT. All linens were no longer white but a dirty amber color. These all had to be replaced and replaced quickly.
On another note what this guest does not mention is when I ask her what happened to one of the pull out beds she had no clue, said she didn't use it. Owners are not stupid. She asked for 10 wristbands. In order to use 10 wristbands, you have to have 10 people and use the pull out. She lied about that also.
I gave her back 1/3 of her damage deposit and if I had known about the pull out in time she would not have gotten that. Again, this bad review is from a spring breaker that does not have respect for one's property. I do have pictures of all linens and the pull out. Sondra
