Vermont has always been a special and magical place for my husband and me. We met in Vermont and were married here 30...years ago.
Margie Blansfield purchased this chalet in 2007
Our family rented homes at Hawk Resort for over 20 years. Our children grew up skiing at Okemo and Killington and swimming in Lake Rescue. My husband is an award-winning contractor in Connecticut and we decided to build our dream home in Vermont about 5 years ago.
We know our renters will appreciate the luxury and craftsmanship of our dream home. We love the peace and tranquility of curling up in front of one of our 3 fireplaces after a day of skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing or even more exhausting....shopping in beautiful Woodstock or Ludlow.
We have rented a number of houses in Vermont over the years and this was by far the best location we have rented. We were three families with numerous children of all ages and the house suited us perfectly. All the amenities were extremely high end and we enjoyed relaxing in front of the fire(s) at the end of the day, and cooking in the excellent kitchen. I would highly recommend the house and we are looking to book again for next year!
We rented 126 Peregrine for a skiing mini-reunion of my Dartmouth College class. In 17 years of these ski trips, to various destination resorts both East and West, we had never stayed in such a beautiful, luxurious, well-appointed and well-maintained home! We slept 10 in the house and made the place Reunion Central for 8 others staying elsewhere at Okemo or living locally. Fantastic kitchen and spacious common areas made for a wonderful apres-ski venue as well as a great setting for our final night's catered banquet (serving 18 people very comfortably!) The bedrooms were palatial, the views breathtaking, and the spell the house cast on all of us indelible. We will be back!
We absolutely loved this beautiful home. It was perfect for our celebratory weekend getaway with three other couples. Where do I start?
The setting is fantastic, nestled into the trees on the side of the mountain with views into the valley below, you feel secluded and part of nature. The floor to ceiling windows, the woodwork throughout the house, and the cathedral open ceilings all combine to connect you with the world outside, from the comfort of the warm home.
The accommodations were spacious for everyone. We had four couples and everyone had their own room with queen or king beds. Had we brought kids there’d have been room for them in additional rooms. The master suite is more of a master floor - with walk-in closet space and a luxurious master bath with its own birdseye view of the mountain.
The kitchen and living area was great for our group. The kitchen is fully appointed with all the latest amenities: a 12 (!) burner gas stove, beautiful countertops to prepare meals, and plenty of pots, pans, dishes, knives, etc. All we needed to bring was the food. A huge table that seats 12-14 people made a nice gathering spot, but there are also two fireplaces downstairs (we didn’t use them as it was warm) and a desk with it’s own view of the valley.
We felt welcomed by our hosts, we were met and given a tour by Missy who was incredibly friendly and helpful, we found everything we needed including sheets, towels, dishes, gas-grill, working WiFi, sound system and TV with cable.
We hope to return someday!
This vacation rental was absolutely amazing. The house itself was stunning, gorgeous and impeccably clean. I can't wait to return with my family for another memorable vacation. The views from almost every room of the house was remarkable. The kitchen and great room were huge and there was plenty of space for multiple families/ friends. Our children also enjoyed the house and our 3 year old didn't want to leave. The gas fireplace was so easy to use and made for magnificent ambiance. The caretaker, Angela was kind and helpful. The house is well cared for. Make sure you have all-wheel drive if staying during the winter months.
this home is magnificent and it shows the owners passion for the finer things in life. I stayed here with three other families and my own,we had 7 teenagers ranging from 15 to 18. the house covered every base you could ever imagine from radiant heat in the floors to bathrooms in every bedroom. i just cant say enough about this home and its owners. Thank You Margie and Jim for all your hospitality.
We were a group of 8 adults, 7 kids (ages 1-11) that stayed 6 nights in this amazing, gorgeous property! We all have traveled for several years to different Vermont properties and this has been BY FAR the best. It was very well appointed, warm (those heated floors!!), spacious, comfortable, and beautiful! The owners, Margie and Jim were so easy to work with. They answered all our questions promptly. The best part was that we had our own personal caretaker, Angie. She met us in Ludlow when we arrived and had us follow her up to the property. This wasn't even requested by us, she just offered. After 12 hours in the car, it was nice to have such personalized care.
During our stay Angie checked in on us (via text) to make sure driveways were safe etc etc. We had one small issue during the stay (no heat) and Angie (and her husband) were at the house in a flash. Problem solved in a few short hours.
Would recommend this property without reservation!
We had such a great time relaxing in that large open kitchen and family room area.
Notable Pros: 2 car garage, huge Viking gas stove, very comfy linens in all rooms. Steam shower in master (was heavenly since it was -20 during our visit), ample cookware/pans/dishes, ample firewood, amazing views from living area.
Notable cons: (I am really reaching here!!): Steep driveway (but after it was sanded by Hawk resort, it was less scary), Viking range and microwave are at toddler level (just an fyi for those with little ones), no flat screen in bunk room so HDMI cable from xbox doesn't work), bedroom shades don't block light. I said I was reaching :-).
Thanks so much Jim, Margie, Angie for making our vacation extra special. We hope to come back to this house again in the future.
