Port Orchard House Rental Photos and Description
Waterman Beach Lodge is a 2-story home built in 1918 by a family from Seattle who made this their summer home. It was remodeled in 1975. Logs were harvested from the hillside behind the home to make up the living room ceiling. The walls are rustic knotty pine. There is a big woodburning fireplace. The home has a feeling of a warm, cozy lodge. The surroundings are very peaceful. There is a wrap-around porch overlooking a big lawn area where you might like to set up our volleyball net for a group game. There is a terrific view of the water from the porch as well as from every room inside the house. Sit in the porch chairs and relax with a good book or enjoy a barbecue on the gas BBQ grill. Watch the Seattle-Bremerton Ferry go past as well as occasional submarines from Bangar Submarine Base, and Naval ships or view a beautiful sunset. Walk across the street to go beach combing or have a picnic on our private beach. Walk only four houses away and be on the Waterman public fishing pier where you can fish, go crabbing or squiding. Or you may wish to bring your boat. We have parking available for it and it's just about 10 minutes away from the Manchester State Beach Park that offers a boat launch ramp. For inside entertainment you will enjoy the 36' flat screen TV and several videos, a selection of board games, and a ping pong table. Waterman Beach Lodge is a great house for entertaining groups, large or small, young or old . There is a spacious fully equipped kitchen and eating area. Downstairs is the Living room/dining area, kitchen, a master bedroom with queen bed, adjoining bath, and garage with laundry area and ground level entry. There is a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The upstairs has 3 spacious bedrooms and an old-fashioned bath with a clawfoot soaking tub for relaxation. The first bedroom has a queen bed plus a single daybed. The center bedroom has 3 twin size beds and the third bedroom has a queen bed plus 2 twin size beds. There is a crib available upon request. About Leah or Sam Weld
We are a retired couple who moved to Washington State in 1989 from Santa Barbara, California where Sam had worked as a Physicist. Sam was born in Seattle and was raised on Bainbridge Island. His family moved back and forth between Bainbridge Island in the summer and Santa Barbara in the winters. Leah was raised in Santa Barbara. After we married, we traveled to Bainbridge Island to a family summer cabin for several vacations and we decided to move to the area when we retired. Our grown daughters and their families had already located here before we did. We purchased this updated 1918 home after falling in love with it's homeyness and old fashioned charm and warmth. We have had many family get-togethers and parties here along with friends. We have moved north to Bellingham, WA to a mother-in-law unit in a new house built by one of our daughters. But we still like to visit this home as often as possible as do our daughters and their families. We are sure you will enjoy Waterman Beach Lodge as much as we do.
