Another Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Mid-coast Maine is a great place for a vacation any time of the year and Robbin's Nest is the perfect vacation home from which to enjoy it.The location overlooking the river offers great views with the large windows inviting you to just take it all in. And even with 9 adults in the group there was plenty of room in the spacious home for each of us to find our own space when we weren't cooking, eating, and having fun together.

The home is clean, well maintained, and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well appointed and open to the dining room and living room -- perfect for socializing while cooking!

Although the weather can get a bit chilly in Dec. there are still plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities in the area -- including the scenic and relaxing walk along the inlet starting just outside the front door!

As always, lobsters and clams from Young's dock were a treat along with all of the the fixings available close by at the Coop and Hannaford’s.

We would love to come back in the warmer weather to take more advantage of the kayaks, the outdoor areas, and Belfast itself.

Highly recommended!

Lovely view, large beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

This is a large beautiful home with a lovely view of the bridge heading north out of Belfast. Each morning I'd watch to see when the man living in a lobster boat across the bay would light up his fire, presumably to cook breakfast, and then glance up at the painting on the wall of a similar looking boat. We spent the day doing various things in Belfast which is a perfect Maine community- enough art stores and good food to enjoy, but not yet densely packed with tourist trap type stores. Also the nearby Young's lobster pound (http://youngslobsterpound.webs.com/) was excellent. We took our 3.5 pound lobsters home to cook but I very much look forward to eating at Young's on a future outing as they have what appears to be an excellent rustic upstairs room right on the ocean. The home was huge even four the 9 of us who stayed there and every room has a beautiful view of the water. We didn't get to take full advantage of the piano but it was in tune. Also the weather was a bit too cold to take advantage of the grill or outdoor patios but those looked beautiful as well--and also the kayaks would have been great fun in the river had my friend's been a bit more adventuresome (willing to risk getting a bit chilly). We'll definitely be back.

A New Tradition Begins! "Mainers" and Robbins Nest are simply the BEST!

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned from one of the best family vacations EVER! Not only did we love the fabulous and beautiful Robbins Nest and its idyllic riverfront location - but we loved everything about Belfast and the surrounding areas! Such an ideal location - right in the middle of the charming mid-coast fishing villages. We spent our two weeks soaking up the local culture and loved it all: fabulous restaurants ('lobstah' galore!), wonderful galleries and shops (the craftsmanship in these parts is stunning!), invigorating schooner sails, trips to Acadia Nat'l Park and Bar Harbor and more! But honestly, we always looked forward to returning to "our home" away from home! We kayaked on 'the Passy', grilled out on the super gas grill, made S'mores for the kids down at the firepit while taking in the wonders of the night sky, played games and generally just enjoyed hanging out together in this wonderfully welcoming and well-equipped "home". During our two week rental period, we had 3 different family/friends groups visit us for a few days each - and it was the ideal way to entertain folks we don't get to see often - EVERYONE wants to do it again! So we will definitely be back! I think we may have started a new tradition!

Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home. There was 8 of us (all adults) and we had more than enough room for all of us. The house is in a great location. Belfast is a cute town with yummy restaurants and nice shops. Not far from Booth Bay, Bar Harbor and Camden. The fire pit and large decks were great! We had a blast in Maine and this home was a great find!

Good location for larger groups as the house & property is spacious and well appointed with plenty of indoor & outdoor sitting areas. All rooms & bedrooms have an amazing views and abundance of space. The property is clean and well maintained.

We had a great time at this location and the setting was excellent. (4 adults, 2 teenagers)

Gale was very helpful with the booking and area recommendations.

Walking distance to Belfast & Young’s Lobster Shore Pound. (1.2Mile)

Large Supermarket 2.5 miles away (Hannahfords).

Coop/Organic supermarket and great variety of restaurants & shops in Belfast.

Enjoyed the kayak trips, paddling up the river with beautiful sunset views (2 kayaks included).

Stargazing on clear nights.

Visit Belfast, cute, quaint village, nice stores & restaurants.

Visit Young’s Lobster Shore Pound – bring picnic items, side dishes, byob.

Run loop around the Passagassawakeag River - road a bit busy on other side – but if early enough not bad (5Mile). Be prepared for hills!

Bike to Swan Lake. (11.2M one way - be prepared for hills) Very nice for swim and picnic lunch. (We brought our own bikes)

Whale Watching in Bar Harbor - amazing shots of 2 Humpback whales.

Hiking in Camden Hills to “Ocean View Lookout”. Amazing views.

We had a great time in Maine and would definitely recommend this home to friends and family.

Buck List Fulfilled!

  • 5 of 5

We had planned on attending the lobster fest in Maine for several years after seeing it on the travel channel. 3 couples( from Kansas and Illinois) and my mother arrived at this perfect settling for our Maine adventure! The location was perfect for day trips. The house is nicely furnished and we were able to spread out or hang together. Gale and her team offered suggestions and helped to make this a memorable vacation, We would highly recommend this perfect Belfast home!
