3 Bedroom, 2 bathroom right on the Ocean and Seven Mile Beach

This condo is located right on Seven Mile Beach, close enough to hear the waves rolling in!  I bought it recently because of the spacious size (over 1600 square feet), and the fantastic views of Seven Mile Beach and the sunsets. Enjoy great views of ships sailing by as you enjoy your morning coffee or watch the peaceful sunsets while enjoying refreshments on the over 400 sq foot deck. Both the master bedroom and the living room have large sliding glass doors that allow you great views of the ocean and sunsets. Being an end unit on the third floor provides additional views through added north facing windows.

Our kitchen is very well stocked with all that you may need to enjoy a meal in the condo, including a large array of cooking utensils, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The condo is well furnished with higher end furniture, lamps,and a very nice decor.

 

The three bedrooms include a master bedroom that has a queen size bed with an en suite bathroom, a second large bedroom with a king size bed and television. It also has a Pack n Play available in the closet. A third bedroom with an ocean view and two twin beds.

One thing we offer that many other rentals do not is free calls back to the US and Canada. There is also free WIFI, and a phone that can be used for free local calls.

The condo complex has two pools, plus a children's pool and a whirlpool. There is a swim-up bar and grill by the main pool (with very tasty daiquiris), which is the largest pool on Seven Mile Beach. There is also a sandy cove built out into the ocean, and access to close by snorkeling fun. A tennis court is also available. There are about 30 restaurants in a 6 or so block radius from the condo. Plus many stores and specialty shops. There is a dive store in the mall next door that both sells and rents equipment. Many restaurants and businesses are within walking distance, or use a rental car to explore the island as we do have a parking pass for the unit. Camana Bay, a neat open air mall is close by too.

We had a grill on the deck, but it has been removed because of the fire code.

Cayman's National Festival, the famous Pirates Week Festival is November 7th through 17th in 2013.

Seven Mile Beach has such great views, and so many things to do close by. Short drive to a very large food store, many shops, restaurants, bars. Georgetown is only a 5 to 10 minute drive, or less then a half hour walk.

Perfect Location, Spacious Condo.

This was the perfect location to stay, close to many restaurants, overlooking the beech, so you could watch the sunset go down each night.
We did hire a car to visit Rum Point and visit the turtles, but the condo and the location means you did not need to travel far.
The cove means that it was easy to snorkel for the kids and bar close by for the adults.
The kitchen has everything you need ( we made several dinners and all our lunch/breakfast here) and it has more utensils/appliances/cutlery then our own kitchen.
Loads of beech towels, so no need to take your own, and we used washing machine/ tumble dryer loads so very useful.
7 Of us stayed in the condo and it was very spacious, and a bonus with the massive balcony.
We had a shower problem, and it got fixed straight away by the maintenance on site.

Thank you for a lovely stay - love the island and the condo made the holiday wonderful.

We have 2 families that travel together. One couple (without children) and one with several (high school and college). We planned our first trip to Cayman and needed a 3 bedroom to accommodate all of our needs. We contacted Ken and he was very responsive to our questions. We found all the reviews accurate, but somewhat optimistic.

The condo location on West Bay Drive and on the top floor (3rd floor) cannot be beat for the price (extremely good value). There are two very small party stores within easy walking distance. The main grocery store (Kirk's) is a long walk, but we could not imagine carrying groceries back from there. We rented an 8 passenger van. The north parking lot is very small and crowded. The southside parking lot (near XQ's) is a better choice. It's a little longer walk, but it has plenty of room. Treasure Island (the resort on the street side of Sunset Cove) is a dive. Sunset Cove is the real 'treasure'.

We arrived exhausted after flying most of the day with 2 stops (layovers). We came into the condo and flopped down on the very comfortable couches in the living room. Ellen (the local greater) was just finishing up some cleaning and waiting for the plumber to look at the garbage disposal. That is all she said to us. She was not friendly or cordial. It was a strange arrival in comparison to how great Ken was to us on the phone and email. The plumber came, looked under the sink, and they both left. The next day we tried using the disposal and it did not work. We emailed Ken and he had someone in here to fix it the first day after Easter Holiday.

The condo is very comfortable, with all amenities as described. It is in need of some TLC (no, that's not code for it being a dump...it is nice). For example, the beds are very hard, one set of curtains has holes/tear, coffee pot is a small 4 cup size, door to bathroom in master bedroom is broken/off the track, needs fresh painting, screen for bedroom 2 does not fit (out of square) so it allows bugs in.

The beach entry is rocky outside of the sheltered cove.

So, does this review sound too critical or are we just trying to give Ken's guests a more realistic view of what they are getting? We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We believe that Ken cares and will begin working on a priority list. We even imagine there are improvements he's made since purchasing it in the Fall 2012.

Summary: Excellent & caring owner. Great location on Grand Cayman. Right on ocean. Spectacular views. Great value.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Thank you for the nice review and that you'd stay again in a heartbeat. The coffee pot is new, but since I don't drink coffee, I guess I didn't think to get a bigger one! We knew about the hole in the one set of curtains and the screen, but since it is a bigger job, wanted to wait until there was a little break between guests to have it fixed, which there is now.

No better place...

If you are reading the owner's description of this condo and wondering if it is really as good as he says it is, I can personally tell you that it absolutely is! We stayed there just last week, and it was one of the best vacations we have ever had.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT: Sunset Cove is in a great location on 7MB, not too close to the cruise ship terminals but not too far away from anything else. It is set back away from the street, so it is private and quiet. The grounds are clean and well kept. Best of all it has a private beach, accessible only to Sunset Cove residents and guests, and a large pool with a swim up restaurant/bar. (The kids got a kick out of that.) Other people and families that we met were nice. Good crowd there overall.

ABOUT THE UNIT ITSELF: It is exactly ask Ken described. It is spacious, clean and bright. It is well stocked with everything from kitchen supplies and basic consumables, to a first aid kit and a flashlight.

ABOUT THE VIEW: I have lived in California my entire life and I have seen just about the entire west coast. I have done my fair share of vacationing to ocean destinations, and my family owns two rental properties in Hawaii.

When I walked into Ken's condo for the first time and saw the view from the living room outside the large patio door, my jaw dropped. It was magnificent. The view is similar from the master bedroom, and even more vast if you are standing out on the large patio.

ABOUT THE OWNER: Ken is a nice person. He is responsive and accommodating. He wants you to be happy, and he wants you to love his condo as much as he does. He makes you feel like a guest in his home. My family has already discussed dates with him to come back and stay again next year.

Absolutely Perfect

To keep it brief, you couldn't ask for a better place to stay on Grand Cayman Island. The condo is perfectly situated right on the beach with a huge private patio. You are located on your own private beach on seven mile beach with little to no foot traffic.

There is a reef right outside the condo which had amazing snorkeling. There is a swim up pool bar and outdoor restaurant as part of the complex for entertainment. The condo is located walking distance from the majority of the restaurants, bars, and outdoor excursions, as well as the grocery and liquor stores. Georgetown, is about a 20 minute walk if you would like to do some shopping.

In addition, Ken is an excellent host, making things very easy and a pleasure to deal with. Deposit was refunded within a couple days after departure, and he treats you as guests in his house instead of dollar signs. I will most certainly be staying here again on my next visit to the Cayman Islands!

A week in paradise

We just returned from a stay in this condo and couldn't have asked for a better place from which to enjoy Grand Cayman. We opened the huge patio doors in the mornings and enjoyed the perfect ocean breeze with breakfast. Days were spent exploring all the watersports and nature the island has to offer. In the evening we discovered why the strata is called Sunset Cove, this unit is perfectly situated to enjoy stunning sunsets over the ocean, if you're lucky you might even catch a pirate ship in front of the setting sun! Every night brought forth a different yet amazing sunset, truly fitting to it's name.

The unit has everything you could need, from cooking equipment and supplies to laundry facilities to beach towels and day bags. We had several adults in our group and there was plenty of room. Plenty of room to sit on the couch or one of many chairs in and around the condo. Or, head out to the patio where there was more than enough room to spread out on the lounge chairs or sit around the large table. The condo is only a short walk from a nice coffee shop, liquor store, and quite a selection of restaurants. There were many convenient options for everyone.

All of us made visits to the Camana Bay development. There are many shops, places to get ice cream, or grab a quiet outdoor dinner with fantastic food. The observation tower was spectacular!!

A few of us went on a few scuba dives with Don Foster's Dive shop, just south of George Town. They were amazing to work with, we highly recommend them to anyone. The entire group did a few touristy trap type things like Stingray City (this is a must see!) and a few snorkel sites which was amazing. We did it right by doing it later in the day when the cruise ships were getting ready to head out...

Ken was a wonderful host and made us feel welcome and secure, his condo was very nice and you truly can't beat the location. A truly amazing stay was had in the Caymans, Thank you Ken for a brief slice of paradise.
