This 1920's Spanish Colonial Revival Style architecture home was remodeled in the late 90's with modern amenities and a pool keeping its original and special architectural qualities. Located above the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood with explosive city to ocean views you will find some of the best dining, nightlife and shopping this city has to offer. The pool has a bar, BBQ and hot tub. There are 4 bedrooms with king beds on the second floor. Two of the bath tubs have exceptional views. There is a private balcony off the master bedroom. This house has all the charm of old Hollywood...with cable tv and wireless internet! It's an experience to stay here and I know you'll enjoy it.
Spectacular property! Exquisitely appointed! Crown molding, high ceilings, 3 fireplaces, great views of downtown LA, Santa Monica and the ocean, 4 huge bedrooms and 1 smaller bedroom, 5.5 bathrooms, very comfortable beds! The lovely hot tub, pool with cabana, and pool bar/kitchen invite relaxing. We frequently use VRBO; this was our best rental ever. The owner trusts renters by leaving out personal photos, art, accessories, books, and games to create a very warm and homey atmosphere. The home is stocked with spices, foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, storage bags, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, etc. The location is close to Chateau Marmont, famous comedy clubs, and many restaurants. Sandy, the property manager, and housekeeper Blanca were extremely helpful and answered many questions promptly and politely. Blanca gave us a tour when we arrived. Our family group of 5 adults and one child had plenty of room to spread out. This home absolutely exceeded our expectations.
My family and I stayed starting on the 23rd of July. This is a beautiful home in a great location and has wonderful views from some points. There are 3 balconies with tables to dine or sit and enjoy coffee. We were not told where extra towels were until we were checking out and asked (the entire time we were commenting that there were not enough towels and just did not ask beforehand or I am sure we would have been told, I wish we would have asked with 8 people and ten towels (2 per bathroom) and using them for the pool as well, we did quite a bit of laundry). The internet did not work most of the time that we were there and during our stay some work was done on a couple of the televisions which never got repaired while we were there. Those minor things aside, this was a beautiful home and we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying there again if in the area. The leasing agent was very friendly and helpful before and during our stay. Very close to a lot of the attractions in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, the Sunset Strip and dining options.
The house is a tired grande dame overlooking LA in the Hollywood Hills. The view is AMAZING! The exterior spaces are quite nice. Some of the interior spaces need some attention- faded, stained fabrics, etc. There are 4 BRs upstairs w/ bathrooms. The master shares a shower w/1 of the BRs which can be awkward. The only BR on the main flr is a very small twin (short people only) and small shower/sink/toilet. They advertise a trundle under the twin, but the room is too small to pull it out, so don't count on 2 people sleeping in there, as we did. We had to put one on the sofa as this room will not accommodate two. The sound system in the house is horrible. Speakers buzz so loud you can't play anything so don't plan on listening to music while there. The property manager was very inflexible. Otherwise, it's a nice house.
That's all I can say is Wow. The property was more than we expected. The pictures do not do this home justice. This home has an amazing view of the city that is second to none. The home is 1920's Hollywood all the way. I hope the owner never modernizes this home because it would lose all of it's appeal and elegance. I was able to get this entire home for less than I normally pay for a small suite in Hollywood. As long as this home is on Homeaway I will be booking it for every trip I take to LA. Thanks for a wonderful stay and a wonderful experience. Btw, the house is huge.
Being close to everything is just the beginning. The house is awesome! View is breathtaking and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub every night. We held a small dinner party and the kitchen was put to good use and we had all we needed to make the night a success.
Our Jacuzzi apparently was not functioning while we were there and you can tell that some areas could use some TLC. Little things, like non-working lights, refrigerator items that should have been thrown out etc. would have made the experience !00%.
But I can only say it was 99% wonderful and would recommend this home and I would certainly rent again!
We stayed in LA for a week in this GORGEOUS home. The pictures on the website just don't do it justice. The views of LA and the proximity to everything to see in Los Angeles was beyond our expectations. If we had known how much there was to do at the house, we would have scheduled just one day to stay at home! There was more than enough room for everyone we brought with us and so comfortable and roomy. The backyard was amazing for entertaining. Plenty of books and movies to watch in the home. Easy access to everything. The views from the balcony were absolutely breathtaking. LOVED IT!! We will absolutely recommend and/or stay in this house again. You will NOT be disappointed, especially at this price.
